Winter Woodland Wonderland Styling

by Fran @ Hitched

Brides and grooms can be super creative if they’re having a winter wedding.  Glittering colour schemes, festive detail and the incredible backdrop of winter make weddings at this time of year a dream to experience.

Boris and Betty (www.borisandbetty.co.uk), a magnificent styling duo featured in the hitched.co.uk suppliers directory are in love with winter weddings.  I caught up with them to see why they think that this time of year is just the best for planning that special day.

Boris and Betty’s stylist Sheena Quinn commented “For Boris and Betty, winter is a magical season full of love, peace, good will and feelings of festivity.

When styling a winter wedding, we allow ourselves to become enchanted by the tender moments that winter brings, such as the first glisten of frost, the cosy snuggles by a log fire, wrapping up in scandi knitwear, homemade hot chocolate and the trips to the park collecting pine cones to decorate the tree.”

“The frost may settle outdoors, but there’ll always be warm hearts indoors at a Romantic Winter wedding - the perfect season to become a snow princess and marry your prince”.

Boris and Betty are in love with nature inspired winter styling. Using a palette of neutral tones of fawn, mushroom, mink and frosty white, accentuated with icy pastel shades of blue, vanilla and pistachio in the form of chalky hand painted pinecones.

For some Boris and Betty quirkiness, they use cute woodland critters cheekily hidden amongst the sparse twiggy trees, rounds of wood and white reindeer moss that would look at home in a Scandinavian forest.

For texture, they use faux fur, tweeds and rustic hessian and in true Boris and Betty style a nod to the vintage with an abundance of feminine lace doilies.

Scandinavian inspired lacey folk patterns and designs are present within the decor stationery complimented with on trend chevrons to keep the look current. Folk patterns are great to inject some festivity into the styling.

Shelley Harrison, marketing and communications from Boris and Betty added “Make extra special memories at the stroke of midnight by asking guests to wrap up warm and step outdoors to make sparks fly with hand held sparklers”.
