Great British Bake Off Star Ruby Tandoh Marries Girlfriend Leah Pritchard
The Great British Bake Off star Ruby Tandoh has married her girlfriend Leah Pritchard in a low-key ceremony.
Ruby and Leah tied the knot in a ceremony in Sheffield on August 31st, before holding a reception at the Abbeydale Picture House.
However, the couple waited a few days to announce their nuptials, with Ruby posting a teasing picture on Instagram of the couple kissing and a day later Leah shared their wedding photo.
Food writer Ruby, 26, wore a gorgeous boho, wrap-style white dress with open-toed pink sandals and a dainty white bouquet.
Musician Leah, who plays in the band Alimony Hustle, opted for a navy suit, colourful patterned shirt and tan brogues.
Ruby rose to fame on The Great British Bake Off in 2013 where she came runner-up to Frances Quinn.
She was embroiled in newspaper headlines at the time for apparently flirting with judge Paul Hollywood on the show, but Ruby came out as bisexual on Twitter in 2015.
In the final of the show, Ruby and her fellow competitors were tasked with making a wedding cake, although she hasn't revealed if she made her own for her big day.
Friends of the couple shared photos of the rustic-themed reception at the historic former Sheffield cinema, including one of the couple cutting their cake.
Leah and Ruby opted for multi-coloured three tier naked cake, with bride Ruby changing into a sparkling silver mini-dress for the evening.
The pair live together in south Yorkshire after Ruby left London two years ago.
Speaking to Grazia in 2016, she revaled she already knew Leah was The One.
"Before we met, I spent a lot of time by myself. It’s
surprised me how easily I’ve found room for someone else in what I thought was
an insular life.
"We’re in it for the long term. I’m not even worried
I’m jinxing it by saying that," she said.
The couple got engaged in January 2017 and again, announced the news on Twitter.
