Hitched Celebrate The Royal Wedding With Magical Garden Party

by helen@hitched

Hitched HQ was transformed into a spectacular garden party in May to celebrate the Royal Wedding - complete with everything from a Krispy Kreme tower to a manicure station!

Rumour has it even Harry and Meghan were following our #HitchedYYWgetroyal hashtag for inspiration (I may have just started that rumour....)

Joining us were hundreds of guests from across the wedding industry, who were transported from the sunny streets of Hammersmith into a floral wonderland via the incredible flower arches made by Capel Manor College (guarded by a few enthusiastic corgi cut-outs!) and Little Gem's Flower's beautiful rustic blooms, accompanied by the soft tones of Whitehall String Quartet’s talented cellist.

Bubblegum Balloons’ amazing Union Jack-themed balloons festooned the room, while Enchanted Trees’ dazzling LED cherry blossom trees kept drawing guests back for pictures all night.

The good weather was on our side and luckily we had the wonderful Beetle Juice Cocktail Bar’s incredible VW van parked right outside to keep us cool. Their master shakers knocked up some devilishly moreish (and deceptively strong) cocktails in honour of the newlyweds, including a Markle Sparkle that certainly would have got the royal seal of approval.

Crafted Cans also gave a nod to the royal wedding with their exclusive ‘Markle and Spencer’ cans of IPA – we love the personalised can idea for any soon-to-be-hitched beer fan!

Because it’s not a British garden party without a G&T, The Duchess Drinks Company were on hand with their hangover-free twist on the classic, offering delicious virgin G&Ts that had everyone fooled.

Those who did indulge in the bubbles loved Most Wanted Wine’s ingenious cans of sparkling wine (hello, new hen do must-have).

Providing the sustenance to match all that alcohol were Black Pot Catering, whose morsels of deliciousness included watermelon and feta canapes, goats cheese and crushed green pea focaccia, and rare beef on mini potato rosti. Their Pimm’s jelly cubes were a revelation we’ll be dreaming about for a while.

Stocking us up on nibbles for the night (and great post-dancing) were bountiful cheese platters from Platter London and, for that sweet treat, a huge Kripsy Kreme tower (which we’re petitioning to become obligatory at every wedding).

As it was a royal wedding party, there had to be cake! MonAnnie Cakes delivered a three-tiered stunner, with a gluten-free top layer of lemon and poppy seed, a raspberry and champagne buttercream-filled vanilla middle tier, and a base of chocolate and vanilla sponge with salted caramel buttercream. Yes, we're drooling just writing this.

Etoile Bakery spoiled us with another delicious three-tier cake, which featured two of 2018's biggest wedding cake trend: a beautiful semi-naked finish and fresh flowers decoration. Talk about a stand-out cake!

There were a huge number of suppliers on site to keep our guests entertained, including beautiful manicures from Jessica Nails (plus a free bottle of varnish for the goody bags), a temporary tattoo station, jewellery making area and DJs Fox and Braces filling up the dancefloor with their anthem-packed set.

Harry and Meghan masks went down a treat among the cool props at Smiles Better’s magic selfie mirror photobooth and were a great reminder of the night for guests to take home.

If that wasn’t enough, every guest received a goody bag to take home, including Big Boss Palm’s amazing new coconut water soda – handy for a few sore heads the next morning – treats of tea and jam, and a copy of You & Your Wedding magazine.

A huge thank you to all our suppliers and the wonderful byLumiere Photography for the great snaps of the night!

Try and beat that, Harry and Meghan!
