We had an amazing wedding reception and evening party at The Old Barn, Clovelly in April 2025. From the moment we first saw the venue, we knew it was exactly where we wanted to celebrate our special day. It’s simple yet beautiful — a perfect blank canvas that allowed us to add our own personal touches. We chose to decorate the venue with simple tulips, and it turned out just how we had imagined. The magical lighting and stunning location made everything feel so special and intimate, while allowing our guests to relax and enjoy the day with us. Joss and Jaqui, the wedding organisers, were absolutely fantastic. They went above and beyond to help us and our guests, ensuring everything ran smoothly and that we had everything we needed. All of the team at The Old Barn were amazing — so helpful and genuinely felt like they loved being part of our special day. For our reception meal, we chose Devon Hog Roast, recommended by the venue — and they didn’t disappoint. The food was incredible, and their team was so friendly and professional. We also had their horse box setup, which looked fabulous at the venue. For dessert, we had Bronuts from Thorne’s Delights, which were absolutely delicious. In the evening, we used Margaret Brown Caterers, and they were a big hit with all of our guests. It was wonderful to have a venue that allows such flexibility with catering — it really helped us make the day our own. One of the evening highlights was the dodgems — such a great decision! They weren’t just a hit with the children; the adults had an amazing time too. The staff running the ride were so cheerful, helpful, and added even more fun to the night. We also had an amazing DJ in the evening — BGM DJs — and they helped us party the night away! We couldn’t have asked for a better day. The Old Barn gave us the perfect setting to create memories that will last a lifetime. Thank you, The Old Barn!

What can we say about yesterday? A fantastic day for Diane and me that was so special because of the unique, special, location. Throughout the service from you and your team has been unbelievably brilliant. Right from the first time we walked onto the ship back in January we were both convinced that it would be the prefect location for out wedding. It was totally a "spur of the moment" decision. We just went to visit the ship, saw the brochure about weddings and then and there decided, "this is just so right" and as you know we booked for "as soon as possible". Thanks to you personally for all the help you have given us, and please pass on our thanks to the whole team. We know that there are lots of people involved. However, please give our special thanks to both Bob, and Steve, They both were brilliant on the day - Bob especially. Attention to detail is so important, and the level of detail was amazing. All of our guests remarked on the magnificence of the location. A unique venue for a special day and one that was perfect for the start of our married life. We were proud to be, in Bob's words, "now part of the history of the SS Great Britain".

We had our wedding reception here on the 14th June 2025, we loved every moment the venue provided such lovely scenery for photos and all of our guests also commented on how beautiful it was!! The lake has a pathway all around so we were able to enjoy that too. Mel and Tom were so accommodating, great communication and organisation from booking to the day itself. Nothing seemed to much trouble, we would highly recommend this venue ! Thanks Again The new Mr and Mrs Young! 💕

Me and my husband had the best wedding day, we was so happy we picked the Assembly Room at the town hall as our venue, it was worth the price and it was a beautiful room, the staff were lovely as we walked in and Stuart did an amazing job ensuring that everything went smoothly before the ceremony started and when it did.

You don’t get better than this. Unique, surrounded by green / nature and such lovely people to partner with when having your big day. All of our guests have said how amazing the ANRAN is and we had the best time in the world. High recommend.

Manor By The Lake was the most perfect wedding venue – we honestly wish we could do it all over again! From the moment we first visited, Siobhan and the team made us feel completely at ease, and on the big day they went above and beyond in every way. Everything ran so smoothly, and every detail was handled with such genuine care. The event managers were kind and attentive, the bar and wait staff were fantastic (and even joined in the dancing, which our guests loved!), and the food was absolutely incredible – people are still talking about it months later. Our day felt magical from start to finish, and that was in no small part thanks to the wonderful MBTL team. We couldn’t recommend them highly enough – truly the dream wedding venue.

Honestly, we feel so grateful that we got married at The Italian Villa. From start to finish, the attention to detail from the venue was unmatchable. Shannon & Lauren were so friendly and dealt with any questions we had very quickly. A big shout out to Bianca, if there was ever someone made to co-ordinate a wedding it is her! She made any last minute worries disappear, went above and beyond to help us in the final few hours and made the day run seamlessly! Forever grateful. We have had endless comments about how incredible the food was and the venue speaks for itself. If you want a truly magical wedding, we highly recommend you check out The Italian Villa. You will be well looked after!

This was such a beautiful location to celebrate in. We really appreciated the fantastic job the museum's Wedding Planner did for us and how amazing all the staff were on the day. We will remember the occasion forever. Everything went perfectly. We were highly pleased, and it has had a lasting positive impact on our families and guests. Looking back at the other venues we viewed and the timescales involved, it feels like a privilege to have celebrated our marriage in the museum. Kelly I want to thank you for the care and attention you personally gave to ourselves, the wedding and our families. Your sunny, bubbly personality put us all at ease, nothing was too much trouble and you went above and beyond for our wedding. I have waited until I had time to write this because I wanted to ensure the feedback, attempted to do justice to the initial enquiries and arrangements, the actual wedding and the after care provided. Matt and I had a number of difficulties during the year running up to the wedding, I honestly thought we would be looking at having to cancel but the events team were brilliant and saved our day by tailoring everything to the budget we ended up with, without any issues or complaint, in fact the support and understanding was beyond expectation. Once we were allocated to you as our coordinator nearer our wedding and we met to discuss everything, I was instantly put at ease by your calm, friendly and welcoming manner. You helped us achieve what we had in mind, including what the veggies had to eat, getting the bunting I supplied put up, working with us to get our decorations on site and arranging the 2p favours for our guests, which was talked about afterwards as the best wedding favours anyone ever had 😂 The wedding was incredible, it was all the little things, like the card and Mr & Mrs Gonks left for us, my girls, my mother and I loved the bridal suite for getting ready in, you got my grandmother a blanket and offered her a hot drink because she was cold, dealing with our music, liaising with photographers and ensuring all the turn around points went smoothly. I know I provided the decorations but you put it all together and it looked stunning. When the flower arch was delivered I realised the batteries for the lights had run out and you must have put new batteries in because they were on and working for the ceremony❤. Everybody gave compliment after compliment for how beautiful and unique our wedding was, they all had a lot of fun, I think the older males in our families reverted back to childhood and were running around the arcade wide eyed and having a go on everything more so than the actual kids, this also applied to the sweet cart🤣 Everyone loved the fish and chip supper, the gravy was a hit, my Mum is asking for the recipe, she said it was bloody lovely. The DJ supplied through yourselves was great, obviously we are a bit of a mad bunch so the party was always going to be a good one. The pier staff assisting with the wedding were also friendly, welcoming and couldn’t do enough for us. At the end of the day we didn’t have to worry about anything apart from tipsily making our way back to the hotel, you made it easy for us to come back the following day and collect everything that you had carefully packed up for us. Another surprise was that you had kept the top tier of our cake for us to take home, I was so pleased because with all the dancing I forgot to eat any, so we took a few slices on honeymoon with us to have with a cuppa. I can honestly say our wedding will be lovingly reflected on for some time to come, it brought a lot of joy to a lot of people, everyone said it will be remembered for how beautiful, fun and unique it was and also the obvious love and connection Matt and I have for each other. Thank you with all our hearts to all The Grand Pier staff involved in our wedding, we are so very grateful you were our coordinator.
