Some fast facts and legal requirements to help plan you wedding in Venezuela.
A UK citizen can only be married in Venezuela before the appropriate Venezuelan government official and by complying with all of the formalities set forth by Venezuelan law.
In addition to all other requirements, a UK citizen resident in Venezuela who wants to get married in Venezuela must also present the following:
• Certified copy of his/her birth certificate. The certified copy can be obtained in the UK or at the Embassy in Caracas.
• A Letter of No Impediment issued by the Embassy in Caracas. Prior to obtaining the Letter of No Impediment, the applicant must request a notice of an intended marriage at the Embassy. The notice of intended marriage is placed at the Embassy for 21 days and the applicant must remain in the country during that period.
• Current Passport and Venezuelan Visa (if applicable), as well as a certified copy of the biographical page of the passport and of the current visa.
• Venezuelan identification card, if applicable (original and copy).
Two to four witnesses, depending on the local requirements where the ceremony takes place
