Some fast facts and legal requirements to help plan you wedding in South Africa.
You will need to provide Copies of passports Copies of Divorce Decrees (if applicable) Copies of Death Certificates (if applicable)
Each party will need to complete a "Declaration for the Purpose of Marriage" (form B131) which will need to be completed in the presence of the marriage officer when they arrive in the country
An Abridged Marriage Certificate will be issued to you immediately after the ceremony has taken place. The Marriage Officer will register your marriage with the Department of Home Affairs and apply for your Unabridged Marriage Certificate which you can use to register your marriage back here in the UK. The Unabridged certificate will be stamped "Apostille" by the High Court in Cape Town. It will take approximately 3 working days to issue this certificate.
