Wedderburn is an exceptional private castle available for exclusive use for weddings and celebrations.
The castle was built 240 years ago as a place to entertain and designed by Scotland’s most renowned architects, Robert Adam and James Gillespie Graham. Today Wedderburn’s magnificent rooms provide the perfect space for wedding ceremonies and receptions.
Wedderburn has party spaces suitable for weddings and events of up to 150, using either the castle itself or our new barn wedding venue. Rental of the castle includes all 12 bedrooms and five reception rooms. There is accommodation for 26 resident guests in the castle and up to 42 if using the luxurious estate cottages and lodges. In recent years the interiors and grounds have been restored to retain the property’s original charm and include all modern comforts required to make your stay enjoyable.
Religious and civil ceremonies can be held at the castle, or there are many beautiful churches nearby. Activities for guests – such as clay shooting in the grass park – are also available. We welcome live music and dancing in the ballroom after dinner.
Launching this year Wedderburn Barns, our new barn wedding venue, provides a more rustic experience than the castle. Set around a romantic courtyard in the Georgian stable block in the castle grounds there are two barns - one for eating and one for bands and dancing. At the barns we offer a wide variety of dining options ranging from hog roast to more formal buffet options, providing something for everybody.
Wedderburn is now celebrating its fifteenth year as a wedding venue. Please get in touch to arrange a visit or to talk to us about planning your perfect wedding
