Beautiful wedding day...
By Mr & Mrs Fenton, on 17 May 2016
Our wedding at the Swan at Streatley was lovely. The newly refurbished rooms tastefully done and conventional, particularly the bridal suite. It has a beautiful view of the gardens and river from the large balcony, my parents and bridemaid sipped champayne there whilst getting ready. The JKJ suite also is large enough and has amenities for getting ready (plenty of long mirrors! And space for hairdresser/makeup to be done). Some guests found the morning after a little noisey as there are still refurbishments going on, on ground level, when the hotel is completely finished it will be amazing, I'm sure.
The ceremony on the barge was great and memorable.
The day ran pretty smoothly under Martin's keen eye and mini disasters averted by him without bothering us. We thoroughly enjoyed the day. Jodie, the wedding coordinator is warm and friendly and nothing us too much trouble. She is very calm, sensible, organised and best of all has a great sense of humour, she is one the reasons we chose The Swan at Streatley for our wedding. The food was amazing and our guests loved the evening buffet, we had lots of lovely comments and thank yous, about it. Thank you to everyone at The Swan, it was an excellent weekend and day!
Great location, great service, bad weather...
By Sally Chadwick, on 11 May 2016
Jodie at the Swan was an amazing help - we only held the ceremony here and went on to another venue but she went above and beyond to make it a great few hours. All the other staff we met were lovely too. The ceremony room is moving to the river side over the winter and will be even better then, the gardens are gorgeous but unfortunately we managed to get the mid April Saturday when it snowed so guests reluctant to come out and enjoy while we shivered taking photos! The room we used instead was fine but there could have been more thought as to what to do in case of poor weather...however all in all would thoroughly recommend!

We had our ceremony on the barge at the swan at streatley followed by our wedding breakfast and evening reception, our day was perfect. The staff made my husband and I feel very special. Pre Wedding BBQ
By Naomi, on 03 Aug 2015
We had our pre wedding celebration BBQ here with ourselves and a number of guests also staying in the hotel. Jodie the event organiser was very helpful throughout organising the event. The hotel has an amazing location, our function room (Thames room) was great for our celebration. The food was delicious and all staff from the reception to the waiting staff and the bar staff, were very efficient and polite. Would advise anyone who is staying to book a river view refurbished room as they are beautiful. Will definitely come back to stay and would recommend to others for an event. It would be nice to see all rooms to the new refurbished standard.
Beautiful Wedding Package 4th April 2015
By David & samantha Lord, on 18 May 2015
The staff led by Jodie Young the Swans Wedding Coordinator made us feel so very important and were able to re organize their packages to meet our requirements. From the first phone call to the moment we sat down to our Wedding Breakfast we were never left alone to arrange anything. The complementary Meal and Wine tasting and the personalized packages allowed all our guests incusing vegans and vegetarians, from the very young to the older guests to be catered for from food, drink and comfort. Don't look anywhere else, contact Jodie and start to plan your DREAM wedding!!

We got married in April 2015 on the Magdalen Barge at the Swan at Streatley. What a fantastic experience! The barge is a unique and intimate venue and the sun was shining so we were able to enjoy leisurely drinks and photos on the lawn. The meal was delicious and the whole event went smoothly thanks to the work of Jodie and Darren on the day.
The four poster bedroom was fab and the champagne in the room was a nice additional touch.
The whole organisation as soon as we booked the wedding was really really good. They helped with every step of the way. Would thoroughly recommend!!

We had an amazing wedding day at The Swan at Streatley. From the moment we met Jodie we felt well looked after and completely trusted her with our plans. Jodie, Gareth and the hospitality team worked tirelessly to make our day as special as possible. Everything went like clockwork, the food and drinks were fantastic and they even made the sun shine in early March!
I would highly recommend the Swan at Streatley if you'd like a wedding in a beautiful location with friendly and enthusiastic people who genuinely want you to have a day to remember.
We'll never forget it and will be regular visitors in the future.
Winter wedding wonderland
By Hannah & Hugh, on 29 Jan 2015
We held our wedding reception at the Swan at Streatley in December 2014.
Jodie, the Swan's resident wedding planner, is very efficient and a pleasure to work with - if you have any concerns about your day, or if you have never planned an event before, you have nothing to worry about as she will guide you through step by step.
The venue is very versatile, with the barge for your ceremony and/or for photographs, and the Riverside Restaurant, Thames Bar and Icknield Banqueting Suite for entertaining your guests. The grounds alongside the Thames are lovely and great for pre-wedding breakfast drinks for your guests if the weather allows.
The food was fantastic and all the waiting staff are friendly, helpful and efficient, in particular Adam, Kasper and Gareth. The latter two are part of the management team and went above and beyond to make sure that everything across the whole wedding weekend went extremely well.
If you choose to book your wedding at the Swan, you will be in very good hands indeed.

My son and daughter in law decided to get married with only 5 weeks notice. The staff were so helpful and did everything they possibly could to make the day as special as possible. The barge was beautiful. The wooden panels gave a feeling of warmth, the lanterns inside were lit, the red carpet and chairs were pristine and the flowers from Ferry Lane Florist added a touch of luxury. We had our wedding breakfast in The Thames Room. The tables were set and they looked magnificant. The food was exceptional. I could not recommend The Swan at Streatley highly enough.
Excellent Wedding Venue

We had our wedding at the Swan and what a fantastic day it was. All of the staff were extremely friendly and helpful and they could not do enough for us. All of our guest loved the setting, the food and the service.
The staff worked late into the night and were there first thing in the morning.
Definately recommended. What not change a thing.
Magdalen Barge Wedding
By Paula Robertson, on 12 Sep 2014
Anyone wanting a water side wedding, I would thoroughly recommend the Swan @ Streatley and their Magdalen Barge. I was fortunate enough to get married there last week. Jodie, the wedding coordinator, is so efficient, she guides you through the whole process, from your first visit to your wedding day. Not once did I feel stressed with planning the wedding as Jodie is an expert at her job. The venue itself it ideal, guests have the option of staying over night if desired. A few of us used the Spa & gym before the wedding and pampered ourselves at the onsite Beauty Rooms. We chose to marry on the Barge, which needed no additional decoration as it's such a stunning barge. We then had Pimms & Champagne on the riverside lawns. The wedding breakfast food was delicious, really good service and no cold or over cooked food in sight, unlike some wedding venues. As we had so many evening guests we took advantage of the Icknield Suite, it comfortably held 135+ guests with space for the DJ and dance floor. I liked the fact you had your own bar for the evening and bathrooms. The evening buffet was plentiful and so many guests remarked on how delicious the food was.
Over all if you are looking for a relaxed wedding that is a little different, I would 100% recommend the Magdalen Barge and Swan @ Streatley.
Stress-free and stunning
By Sue and Chris Thomas, on 27 Jun 2014
The Swan at Streatley is in a show-stopping location, adjacent to the River Thames and nestled in the hills of the Goring Gap. It's currently undergoing refurbishment, hence the rating for facilities and buildings, but when it's all finished it will be even more stunning. We had our wedding ceremony on the Magdalen Barge, it was beautifully intimate and felt almost chapel-like without being at all religious.
For us the real difference at the Swan was the services of Jodie Young, the hotel's dedicated wedding co-ordinator. From our first viewing of the facilities to the big day, it felt as though Jodie was on our journey with us. There was no need to be stressed, we explained what we wanted, and how we wanted the day to feel, and Jodie delivered! A few weeks before the wedding she took a couple of hours out to talk us through every step of our day so we knew what to expect. We didn't need to do anything on the morning of the wedding except to get ourselves ready!
The food was excellent. One of the most fun aspects of the preparation was the menu tasting evening - and the service and quality of the food followed through to the actual wedding breakfast. We had loads of compliments on the food - quality and quantity - and the service was attentive yet unobtrusive.
We were hoping for a stress-free, fun and enjoyable wedding day, and the Swan made sure that we had exactly that!
