About The Queens

If you are looking for the wow factor, look no further.  The Queens is the most stunning wedding venue in the city centre.  The Art Deco glamour of this historic hotel will have your guests jaws dropping before they even catch a glimpse of the happy couple.

Whether you are looking to organise the big white wedding or something a little more intimate, we have a variety of rooms for you to choose from.  With all our rooms licensed for civil ceremonies we have everything to make your day special all under one beautiful roof! We can also accommodate self catering weddings, just contact our team for more information.

The Queens ballroom is the fairytale venue for any wedding for up to 450 guests and the adjacent reception area and Ark Royal Suite are perfect for those reception drinks and canapés before your guests sit down to indulge in the sumptuous wedding breakfast.  For more intimate celebrations the beautiful Palm Court is a truly special room to hold your wedding celebrations. 

We know the sheer amount of planning that goes into making your one special day special.  Our Wedding Co-ordinator will live and breathe your wedding with you, we’ll be on the end of the phone whenever you need reassurance or just want to double and triple check details.  Our eye for detail, professionalism and years of experience will make sure your guests take away as many fond memories as you.

Our team are on hand to make your dreams come true.  Let you imagination run wild and we will make your dreams come true, and of course we’ll work to your budget, there will be no hidden extras.  Our talented chefs will create a tailor made meal fit for a Queen, from the canapés right through to the evening buffet, your taste buds will be tingling.

Hi Allison, Thanks again for yours & Katie's help! We will certainly fill out the questionnaire for you when we return, we are happy to express how fantastic The Queens Hotel have been for us!! Any recommendations you want from us just let us know & we really do appreciate Katie's extra efforts in getting additional sweets to make up for the short coming of The Venue Decorators. Allison did all our pre wedding planning and Katie was with us on the day. They were both so lovely, helpful nothing was too much trouble for them, Allison was really organised beforehand and helped all the planning for the day run very smoothly and Katie was really kind and as the bride made me feel very looked after from beginning to end which was so important to me as i was very nervous before we got married. Katie also put our cupcake stand up and down for us which she didn't have to do but we really appreciated that. They both deserve recognition for how lovely and professional they are, thanks to both of them.

Dear Joanna I'd just like to take this opportunity to thank you, and everyone at The Queens, who was involved with Sara & Ashley's Wedding on 22nd June. The Queens Hotel was absolutely The Ideal Venue for The Wedding! The rooms included in our package allowed us to accommodate all our needs, and helped to avoid delays. The covered chairs looked so elegant, in both The Palm Court, and in the Ballroom. All the staff at The Queens were lovely to deal with, and always so helpful. Nothing was ever too much trouble for them, and everything was done with a smile! Our guests from London loved staying at the hotel over the weekend. They were full of compliments about their lovely rooms, the delicious breakfast, and the handy location of The Queens in relation to the shops, nightlife, and the Railway Station! They all said that they felt as if they were on holiday!! Our rooms on the Q Club floor were amazing! The comfy beds ensured that Sara and I both slept well the night before The Wedding. The Bar facility on Q Floor was wonderful, and Sara's close friends all came to a pre-wedding Pyjama Party in there on the Saturday evening. This was great for keeping her from becoming pre-occupied and nervous about the actual wedding, as she was so busy playing games and having fun! The delicious Continental Breakfast, which we ate outside on the balcony on Sunday morning, was simply "the icing on the cake"! It has been a most memorable weekend for us all, and we would definitely recommend The Queens to anyone who is planning a wedding! Many thanks again for all your help. Joanna. I wanted to say a massive thank you to you and your team the day was perfect. The staff from the waitresses to the reception staff were amazing, second to non. I would like you to pass on our heartfelt thanks to all your team there. What an absolute credit to you all! The young girl that was on reception she was brilliant. And the events manager, I keep forgetting his name, was fantastic. An amazing man! To the chef also, not one person said the food was nothing more than perfect. I just wanted to write on here. As me and my fiancé are getting married at the queens next year I just cannot wait this hotel is amazing all the staff are friendly and nothing is too much for them ! The food is excellent , even the first time I ever stayed it was a memory to remember ! And Helen the Wedding Co-Ordinator is fantastic So I strongly recommend if you are looking for a place to get married the "Queens" is a perfect match!

Dear Ivan, I felt I wanted to send you this email because for the past weeks I have been dealing with one of your staff members, a Helen Berriman. Helen has been professional from day 1 and is always so helpful, nothing is ever too much trouble. I met Helen at the Queens on one occasion with my client Mr and Mrs Brear and Helen was so helpful, her manner is excellent and the reason I wanted to send this email is that it isn’t often you encounter somebody who understands and portrays great customer service. As yet we haven’t totally agreed to go with the Queens as our chosen venue, but this is not detrimental to Helen, because my client asked me who I would prefer to work with at all the venues we have been in discussion with, I chose Helen as she stands out from the crowd. Hopefully we will be proceeding with the Queens especially if you can release the 13th October, we are currently provisionally holding the 12th October. Helen is a credit to the Queens Hotel and believe me it isn’t often you encounter somebody like her, she does make the Queens stand out from its competitors. Regards Sue

A Night to Remember

It was the best event |I have organised because of the smooth running of the whole evening. I can honestly say there wasn't a hitch and we all had "A Night to Remember" the apt title of our event. We are already planning another for next year! Allison managed the whole event in a professional and consistently pleasant manner-even when the table plans changed every other minute, she remained calm, smiling and competent....consequently the evening went without a hitch! All comments I heard afterwards were very positive.
