The Old Deanery

The hotel has attractive terraced gardens with a stunning weeping willow tree in the background, together with tables and parasols (weather permitting), all of which are accessed through french doors from the garden room, adding to the charm of this historic but very stylish building, which is a truly unique and attractive venue for any special occasion.

Exclusive use of the hotel is available from £5,500 in 2012 and 2013 for 50 adult guests with extra guests charged at £80. The prices includes a glass of sparkling wine for guests on arrival with 2 canapes per person, half bottle of house wine plus a glass of sparkling wine with speeches. Then a splendid three course meal with coffee and chocolates. Another glass of sparkling wine for your toast.  If you have exclusive use there is no civil ceremony room hire charge if you get married here.

For exclusive use there should be a minimum of 50 adult guests for weddings at peak times. (For weekdays or sundays, exclusive use may be available for fewer than 50 adults) All ten bedrooms must be occupied if you plan to have an evening reception with a band or disco.

For smaller Weddings the Wedding breakfast menus start at £70 per person for a delicious three course meal followed by either tea or coffee. Our chef has carefully put together the menus, using only the finest local produce. 

If you decide to have food in the evening, prices start at £7.50 per person for bacon or sausage sandwiches, £15 per person for a cold picnic buffet or £20 per person for a hot buffet.

Prices for arrival drinks start at £5.50 per person, and wine is priced by the bottle from £15.75. Our menus and wine list may be viewed on our own website.

We can accommodate 56 people in our main restaurant on round tables, with an option to seat an extra 24 people in the adjoining room. In the evening we can welcome up to 130 for drinks, music and buffet.

A wedding co-ordinator will offer support and advice throughout the planning of your special day. Exclusive use of the building is available when you book for a minimum of 50 guests and occupy all eleven bedrooms on the night of the Wedding. We can accommodate 56 people in the restaurant on round tables, with an option to seat an extra 24 people in the adjoining restaurant for your Wedding breakfast and accommodate up to 130 for an informal evening buffet.       Faultless elegance and superb service!
      We had our wedding at the Old Deanery last summer. The venue was beautiful, intimate and personal, the staff couldn't have been better and the food was utterly sublime. Everyone was so accomodating and helpful and we were able to incorporate many of our own touches. A fantastic venue for a more intimate, personal, unique wedding than in your average hotel.

      Our fabulous Wedding Day
      Better late than never!! What can I say about The Old Deanery, this is an excellent venue if you are looking for an intimate feel for your wedding, with stunning gardens! The hotel has a real 'shabby chic' feel - just wonderful. Linda (the owner)- accommodating, helpful and a lovely lady. Food - fantastic quality. Service/Staff - friendly competent. Linda and her staff made our day a truly wonderful occasion and we thank them very much.

      Paul and I were delighted with our Wedding reception at The Old Deanery, as we knew we would be. Fran was a great help during the lead up with all the arrangments, and we enjoyed the relaxed atmosphere on the day.       You pulled out all the stops
      Just a little note to say many many thanks for putting on a superb wedding venue for Paul and I.. The food was fantastic and I have had lots of comments from our friends on how fab the Duck was. You pulled out all the stops and the attention to detail was well worth it. We had a lovely honeymoon and came home refreshed.

      I would like to tell you how wonderful it was to be with you! We enjoyed all the meals, the chocolate cake was also brilliant. All of us will remember the day and place for our lives!
