The Mill Hotel

Sudbury is the birthplace of Thomas Gainsborough, the famous portrait artist,  Sudbury is a thriving historic market town bordered by water meadows with superb  riverside views.

The Hotel is ideally situated in the heart of East Anglia. It stands on the banks of the River Stour with magnificent river and countryside views and provides bedrooms all furnished to a high standard, many with river views making the Hotel an ideal wedding venue.

The air conditioned, oak beamed restaurant overlooks the Terrace and delightful mill pond and to set the scene, the working mill wheel is located behind a glass screen for all to view. With polished wood floors and open beams, the restaurant has a special atmosphere and ambience that is highly regarded.
The bar with views over the adjacent water meadows is surrounded with comfortable Edwardian style seating, antiques and artefacts and is an ideal place to sit with a relaxing drink.

The Mill Hotel is licensed to hold civil ceremonies, and has the option of 3 rooms available. The Riverside Restaurant, Drawing Room and Gainsborough Room, each varying in size catering for small intimate weddings up to a maximum of 80 guests.

We will be pleased to cater for your Wedding Breakfast and evening reception. Our wedding pack has a variety of delicious dishes for your reception and evening function. We offer attractive packages that include; function room hire, a four course menu, red carpet, table plans and place cards, complimentary stay for Bride and Groom and much more.
