The Midland

The Midland Hotel won “Best Wedding Venue – Central Manchester” at the inaugural Eat Drink Sleep Awards on 10th March 2015 which celebrated the cream of Manchester’s food, drink and hospitality industries. More than 63,000 votes were cast by the public across 34 different categories honouring everything from Best Pub to Best Wedding Venue. As well as “Best Wedding Venue – Central Manchester” The Midland’s award winning restaurant Mr Cooper’s House & Garden took two dining gongs.

Hi Nina, We both had a wonderful day. Staying at the Midland and then having the reception there was definitely the right choice for us. All our guests were very impressed with the staff and the quality of care we received the entire day. The food was absolutely wonderful and we particularly loved the pancakes!! I can't thank you and the team enough for making our day special. Cleo who was with us during the afternoon was so helpful and attentive and it made our lives so much easier. We looked round many venues for our daughter Charlotte's wedding-we wanted it to feel very special and luxurious but we wanted people to feel relaxed and enjoy the day with us. The Midland totally delivered for us in every way from the day before when the concierges were so helpful moving dresses, cake and accessories in,throughout the actual wedding then to the day after as we gathered up to leave . Everyone from bar staff concierges,waiting staff ,cleaners and managers could not have been more helpful . It went so smoothly and professionally -many people complimented us on the food and relaxed atmosphere.The sofas in the lounge area attached to function room were superb bonus for those danced out. Above all things we are grateful for making it the happiest day of Rick and Charlotte's life. with many thanks Christine Fielding -mother of the bride

Dear Nina Both Peter & I would like to thank you & your team so much from the bottom of our hearts for all your support in helping us organise our 20th anniversary vow renewal on 16th May 2015. We had wonderful time & all our guest thoroughly enjoyed themselves too. All the staff at the Midland made us welcome & nothing seemed too much trouble, from concierge, to the trainee chambermaid, to the chap from maintenance who came to fix the blown fuse in the lights and who ended up fixing Peters waistcoat as I couldn't do it with my nails! And the waiters & waitresses in The French who were lovely with us too. Maria & her Team of professionals who made the day run like clockwork; everything was delivered with such precision that a lot of our guests commented on how amazed they were at their professionalism & how everything flowed perfectly. However Nina, nothing would have happened so brilliantly if you had not been the professional & wonderful woman you are. You catered for mine & Peters every need right down to the minuscule detail & when I may have been fussy & particular about something, you took care of it & made it perfect for me. I couldn't have wanted for more, seriously, having our event with you at the Midland was a dream come true. One thing I do remember was your early morning Pep talk to me ... calming my nerves in the morning. That kind of service & reassurance is priceless and I Know it may be 'part of your job' but I also think its who you are as a person. love & best wishes June & Peter x

Hi Nina, We had a fabulous day, thank you for everything you did for us. We couldn't have hoped for the day to go any better. From all your help on fri, a lovely meal at MrCoopers, to the whole of Saturday. Ellie was great on Saturday, she made sure everything ran to time and checked up on us all day which was great. So do thank her for me. All your staff couldn't have done more for us. From a bottle of champagne in our room from Steve - reception manager? - I don't have his card he left us with me, to the guys running the bar who were great. Everyone made themselves known to us and made sure we were having a good time. Everyone at the wedding said how amazing the venue was and how well everything flowed on the day. The food was also fantastic, everyone said how lovely it was and how well the dessert matched the wedding decor!! I was so pleased with how both the ceremony room and the Trafford room turned out. They both looked beautiful. The suite we had was great, was so much fun getting ready in there on the morning. Concierge were also lovely and couldn't do enough for us and the guests staying over. I am sure there is loads that I have forgotten to mention. It was just great. Please thank everyone involved for making it run so smoothly and making us feel so welcome. Thanks to you again. Hi Nina, I was planning on emailing you today to express both of our immense gratitude for everything you've done for us, It was absolutely perfect! Everything ran so smoothly, Ellie went above and beyond, everyone commented on the quality of the food (even my Gran with her plain meal) and all the staff involved with our wedding were simply amazing! The Stanley suite looked beautiful when we arrived for the breakfast and whoever set up the gift table did a wonderful job of putting out the love hearts and arranging the photos of our Dads which meant a lot to us. Just really wanted to let you know how amazing it's all been from start to finish! It's going to feel a bit strange no longer emailing you or popping in to The Midland, but we'll def be back for our anniversary. :) Best wishes, Gemma and Anthony,
