Do not look anywhere else! Pick Dode!
The moment we walked into Dode, we knew. We knew this is where we wanted to spend the entire day. This place is beyond perfect. Its more than magical, its more than spiritual (In a non religious way), its breath taking, its positive, its epic and its emotional. The Lost Village of Dode, is like something from a film and Dode really was a dream come true. Doug and Mary, the owners took the stress and pressure off of us, answering any questions and always being polite, almost like friends, and once we booked, it was the last thing on the list we had to worry about but the first thing on the list we couldn't wait for. If we could re live this day again and again, we would. There really is no place like Dode. (All our guests said it was the best wedding they had ever been to and the most unique, peaceful and beautiful place)

      Amazing atmosphere
As soon as we pulled up to this venue, we knew it was for us. I think a lot of people have this feeling. Yes, it's remote and yes, it's small, but those two things are very appealing if you want a personal, friendly & laid back wedding. Doug and Mary are welcoming, flexible, open minded and helpful and the venue is one of a kind and very special. Even if you weren't thinking of a small wedding it's totally worth a visit and will probably win you over.

      Amazing
Got Married on Fri 20th May and it was perfect, the venue was so intimate and fairytale, has amazing atmosphere and ambiance and was just magical. Couldn't have asked for anything more perfect and brings it all out in the photos. Thankyou for making our day so immense and perfect highly recommended.

      A truely magical, perfect venue
Our wedding was held on 27th August 2010 and this venue was perfect. We were looking to hold a smaller, more intimate wedding in a unique venue and The Lost Village of Dode ticked all the boxes. It is simply breathtaking when you step inside and the glow and warmth from the candles creates a beautiful atmosphere. We had kept the venue a secret for our guests and it was such a surprise to them to arrive at this quirky old chapel in the middle of no-where! I would recommend to organise for your guests to arrive by mini-bus as it can be a little tricky to find. We send our warmest thanks to Doug who made our day so special with an unforgettable venue.

      Stunning
An enchanting setting for any day, we were absolutley delighted by the way everything was handled by the incredibly friendly Doug and Mary. We had a civil ceremony followed by a Hand Fasting held by Doug in the grounds which was exactly as we wished and enhanced by the glorious venue and beautiful sunshine. Our dogs (three) were welcomed and part of the day. Go visit, the pictures don't do Dode justice!

      Magical, spiritual, intimate venue
We recently got married at this beautiful venue and we couldn't have wished for a more perfect place. It was the first place we viewed and we booked there and then because it was just magical. We kept the venue a surprise and booked coaches to ferry the guests there as there is such a wow factor when you arrive after following the country roads. Doug and Mary, the owners are so welcoming and friendly and very accommodating. It was the best day of our lives by far and the setting couldn't have been more perfect for our Wedding Day. As it only holds 45 people, it was so perfect as we had our immediate family and best friends with us. A very intimate personal ceremony that everyone loved.

      Magical Location
We chose 'The Lost Village of Dode' as a wedding location because for us there is no other place that is as magical; the location and that amazing building made the occasion even more special as did the owners, Mary & Doug, not forgetting the fabulous flower displays that the caretaker did for us - thank you so much. How kind & accommodating of Doug & Mary to allow our little dog, Ella, to be part of the ceremony, that meant so much, it wouldn't have been the same without her.

      Perfect and unique
Chris and I got married at Dode on 6 August 2010. We had both the ceremony and evening reception here. We are so pleased that we chose Dode, after looking at lots of other places. At soon as I saw Dode I knew it was perfect. The candles, the straw on the floor, the smell of lavendar, the beautiful countryside: it was all wonderful. So many guests have asked how we found it and said how amazing Dode is. Mary and Doug were great - not only organised, replying to queries really quickly, but are also lovely people. Doug loves the place and has lots of interesting stories to share! We had a hog roast and magician in the evening and stayed at the Retreat on the grounds for 3 nights which was also great (with a hot tub!). We can't recommend Dode enough.

      Just Wow 10-9-2009
When we arrived the smell of the lavender was just so amazing, that will be my everlasting memory. We were so glad we opted to have all the candles lit, it made it all so special. I can't believe we were so lucky to have found somewhere so wonderful to have our civil partnership. Doug and Mary provided a first class service.
