Facilities and Capacities

The Grand Hotel is home to multiple spaces, such as the Devonshire Suite and the Cavendish. The former is a spacious room featuring an ornate ceiling, a glass chandelier, an in-built bar, and a stage. This site can accommodate up to 180 guests for a seated civil ceremony, 140 for a wedding breakfast, and 250 for evening celebrations.

On the other hand, the Cavendish is a suite that opens up onto the terrace promising stunning views of the sea. This is more suited for civil ceremonies or wedding breakfasts for a smaller guest list of up to 60. The Grand Hotel also welcomes you and your guests to retreat and relax in their individually styled bedrooms or suites as per comfort and convenience. Just brilliant

From the start our experience with Amber and the team at The Grand Hotel was amazing. Very professional, organised and nothing was to much trouble.

Beautiful magical day

We got married at The Grand Hotel last year and we had the most magical day. The staff were fantastic and professional, the venue was everything we wanted and our wedding planner went above and beyond for us and couldn't have asked for anyone better, Amber was always quick to respond to any worries or questions we had she was always supportive throughout the planning and the day itself she was just fantastic in every way possible

Just wonderful

The day was just as we had hoped, magical.
Amber took care of everything and without fail ensured we were both taken care of along with our guests.
Outside wedding that was disrupted by rain, but once again Amber didn’t miss a beat and in fact made the day even more special by moving the whole party inside.
If we could offer ten stars we would give twenty.
You would be foolish not to use the Grand Hotel!

Supported us with changing circumstances

We had planned a beautiful wedding in August & Amber went above and beyond to ensure that we had everything we wanted & more, she considered every request and met with me on many occasions just to discuss details & go other key points. Unfortunately my father in law recieved a terminal cancer diagnosis in April & Amber went into action to assist us in rearranging everything, we got married on the 28th May 2023 outside on terrace. The sun shone & it was a beautiful day & everything went perfect thanks to Amber and her team.

Wedding day!

We have have been planning our wedding for 2 and a half years from London. Lauren cooke our wedding planner made everything so easy for us. Lauren was always there to answer any questions. The wedding itself exceeded our expectations by far. All members of staff on the day were amazing they all worked so so hard. Lauren made sure our day ran smoothly we couldn't of done it without her. The food was out of this world! We honestly had the best day we want to do it all over again. Thank you The Grand we will see u soon.

The Perfect Day

On Saturday the 11th August 2018 myself and my new wife had our wedding at the Grand Hotel. Having had the service in Stoke Gabriel we returned to the Grand for our wedding breakfast and celebrations.
This was the culmination of 2 years of planning aided by the absolutely brilliant Lauren. From start to finish, through the planning, prior to and during the day we have been looked after and treated like the most important special clients.
The day itself at the Grand started with us returning from the church to a special welcome from all staff, their excellent customer service and attention to detail continued throughout the afternoon and evening and was impressive to watch.
The coordination of meals/turn around of rooms and organisation was amazing and so professional.
The Devonshire suite looked stunning, and was the perfect setting for the reception/speeches then evening celebrations.
We stayed in the luxurious honeymoon suite which just topped off our day.
Bravo to all concerned at the Grand Hotel, especially Lauren who Has made what can be a stressful day, a breeze.......my advise to those looking for a venue for their wedding is to choose the Grand. You will not be disappointed.
A magical day, where the staff will make sure it’s ‘all about you’

Our Wedding Day

We got married here on the 14th july, can we say how amazing our wedding planner was, so kind and thoughtful to every detail we had. The staff at the hotel were so friendly and helpful. We couldnt of picked a better venue for our wedding but without lauren we wouldn't of had our dream day! We will be staying here soon just for a night away

Wedding venue
Attended a friends wedding on Saturday at the Grand Hotel as best man.

The only way I can describe this event was that it was truly excellent. The wedding planner really ensured a smooth seamless event.

The staff were attentive, caring and expert in steering proceedings.
The format was practiced and executed brilliantly.
The room was prepared differently for the wedding service, the meal and then the evening do, quickly, efficiently and each time looked fantastic.
Each course of the meal was outstanding.
The evening 'do' was pleasant, stress free and with our own bar and excellent staff again.
Followed by a comfortable room and quiet nights sleep with a leisurely breakfast.

Wedding at The Grand Hotel

We have just had our wedding at The Grand Hotel and had an amazing time. The room for the ceremony, the wedding breakfast and the evening party were presented perfectly. The food was fantastic, the staff were all brilliant. A very special thank you to Lauren the wedding planner and Katy. A massive thank you to Chris the restaurant manager and his fantastic team especially Floran. We are so happy we chose The Grand for our special day and would recommend it as a wedding venue. One hundred guests have left with some fantastic memories. We will be back soon to eat in the restaurant. Thanks again

Perfect Wedding

We'd like to extend our thanks to all the staff at The Grand Hotel for giving us the most perfect wedding imaginable. Special thanks go to Lauren Cooke our wedding coordinator. Lauren was absolutely amazing throughout the whole planning process. Nothing was too much trouble for her and she made the planning of our wedding a breeze with a lot of fun along the way.

When it came to our big day Lauren made everything run so smoothly. We'd like to extend our thanks to the chef and the rest of the kitchen staff who provided us with some stunning food throughout. The canapes being the highlight- they were so tasty. All guest enjoyed the wedding breakfast meal and the evening food was delicious also. The late night snack went down a storm! Thank you for your efforts.

The bar staff were amazing.. Liam the bar manager worked very hard for us aswell as Leanne behind the bar in our evening room.

All staff members pulled together to ensure our day was so very special. Rob, who I think was a manager, was always around and offering his assistance throughout the day which I really appreciated.

Our dream wedding finished off with a lovely breakfast which we enjoyed together with all of our guests who stayed the night. The bridal suite was lovely and the Hotel had left us some gifts inside the suite also.

The evening was a success and had a great night of music thanks to Sam at Bespoke Disco.

Dream Wedding

We got married on the 11th of August 2017

The whole day was like something out of a dream

All the staff where so helpful and friendly
Wanna give a massive shout out to Josh the amazing barman /singer and the lovely blond hair girl behind the reception who was still there the morning after the wedding

The 3 course meal was amazing so much time and effort was put in to it by the chefs and you could tell

But most of all a huge huge massive thank you to Lauren Cooke the best wedding planner ever she couldn't do enough for us. Nothing was to big or to small she is a star !!!!

Wedding Vows Renewal

My wife and I renewed our weddings vows last weekend in the Grand Hotel.
Lauren the wedding coordinator gave us no less than 100% and the ceremony and the weekend was absolutely fantastic.
I would highly recommend this hotel,the staff were so friendly and accommodating and once again whether it is your wedding or the renewal of your wedding vows get in contact with Lauren and she will make it very special for you.

We had our wedding at The Grand on April 15th and we couldn't have asked for a better venue to spend our special day.
We only wanted a small wedding (around 18 guests) and the staff were more than happy to cater to our needs. From our first initial meeting with the Wedding Executive Lauren, we instantly felt comfortable and throughout the process she gave us a lot of guidance and some ideas as to how we could create a memorable day. She was great at helping us to create a vision in our minds of what our day was going to be like.
When the day finally arrived Lauren executed it brilliantly with the help of her team. All of the staff were attentive and polite throughout the day, checking that everything was okay and asking if we needed anything which was lovely, great customer service!
The day was exactly how we pictured it to be and something that we will cherish forever and that is all down to Lauren and all the other staff members.

Amazing Day!

Our ceremony was conducted in the 1881 restaurant, in front of the bay window, so the views were to die for. It was incredibly well organised and the decorations were brilliant. My husband and I entered the room at the same time from either end, and walked up the isle together. It couldn’t have been better. After the ceremony, we were provided with cocktails on the terrace, which gave our wedding guests a fantastic chance to have a good chat.
Our formal photos were taken in the gardens at the Grand, which overlook the entire bay. I’ve seen some previews, and the location is stunning. Inside there are also some fantastic locations for photos, such as the grand stair case in the lobby.

The Wedding Breakfast was the best meal I’ve had in my life. The chef was able to make 54 meals taste just like the one we had at our tasting session. All of our guests commented on how fantastic the food was. The honeymoon suite, was, without a doubt, the best hotel room I could ever have wished to stay in. Comprising of 2 bedrooms (one en suite), a lounge, and a fantastic bathroom. The beds were certainly comfy, and after a day of standing up, walking and dancing, this was certainly welcomed.
The Grand Hotel did a fantastic job looking after us on our special day, and the staff could not have been better. We not only have fantastic memories, but we also have friends for life at The Grand.
I would, without a shadow of a doubt, recommend The Grand Hotel for your special day.
