The Essex Barn at the White Hart

The Essex Barn is a stunning structure in the grounds of The White Hart, Great Yeldham. Situated on the Essex/Suffolk border the natural English countryside surrounds the venue.

The decor is a mixture of old and new, contemporary, yet set within a traditional style barn. The open mezzanine floor creates a romantic setting for your ceremony and the main barn is warm and welcoming for your meal and evening reception.

Your wedding breakfast will be cooked and prepared by our 2AA Rosette team of chefs, who pride them selves in fresh produce delivered daily. Our serving staff are professional and discreet giving you both reassurance that your wedding breakfast will be one to remember.

We have a bridal preparation room in the main building for the bride and her bridesmaids to use as they prepare for the day. In the barn the Bride has her own bathroom too where she can freshen up throughout the day.

We also have eleven en suite bedrooms, to Four AA Gold Star standard for you and your guests to retire to.

Summary information

Much has changed over the years, but not everything. The White Hart still strives to give visitors a warm welcome, offering good food and good wines Private parties and wedding receptions are still planned and the log fires still blaze. Surrounded by romantic riverside gardens, the luxurious marquee can accommodate both small and large wedding receptions. The inn has stood through the reigns of 23 English rulers. So for hundreds of years the White Hart has stood in this corner of Essex while history has lapped at its doors.

      I know this may be very much after the event but I don't think I ever really thanked you for making our wedding day so special! Although it was absolutley freezing, we had a fantastic day! All of the staff on the day were brilliant and it all went so perfectly I'd do it all again tomorrow if we could! Everyone that came loved the venue and seemed to have as good a day as we did..... I can't recommend you highly enough. Thank you again for all your patience and help on the day and the months leading up to it. Many Thanks

We had the most perfect day, it all was absolutely seamless and we enjoyed every minute of it. We can't believe that you even organised the weather to be dry and sunny all day too!       We both just wanted to say a huge Thank you to all the staff at the Essex Barn for making everything run so smoothly. So many people who attended have commented on how fantastic the venue was, how friendly and helpful the staff were and how smoothly everything ran. To be able to just stroll around chatting prior to getting married was so nice and your help in getting everything set up and moving along so nicely on the day and in the evening was the main reason we were both so relaxed and able to enjoy every aspect of the day. It had to be the most stress free wedding I have ever heard of so a most sincere thank you form both of us and all our guests.
