Located in Blandford Forum, in the North Dorset countryside, The Crown Hotel is a picturesque wedding venue that offers an array of elegant event spaces. Formerly a Georgian coaching inn, this historic property in England was fully refurbished in 2017. Here, you and your guests can enjoy scenic surroundings, luxurious accommodations, and superior services for your special day.

Facilities and Capacity

The Crown Hotel offers both indoor and outdoor event spaces, as well as a separate function area, to host all kinds of wedding occasions. Enjoy a relaxed engagement party in the pet-friendly Pantry or a sophisticated rehearsal dinner in the formal Dining Room. This venue boasts a separate function space, the Sealy Suite, that offers privacy for events held here. The Sealy Suite is licenced for civil ceremonies and can comfortably accommodate up to 150 guests. The room benefits from a private bar area, and access to the beautiful south-facing garden. Your entire occasion can be held within the Sealy Suite, beginning with your heartfelt ceremony held indoors. Afterwards, your guests can adjourn to the garden to enjoy a comfortable outdoor drinks reception surrounded by meticulously manicured greenery. The venue’s experienced event team can then easily transition the suite to host your main reception event. Guests can drink, dine, and dance the night away surrounded by the elegant accents and historic charm found here. Additional event spaces include the bar and cosy common room found within the main hotel. The entire venue can be reserved for those that wish to have exclusive use of the property for their celebration. The hotel boasts 27 beautifully appointed guest rooms and suites, several of which are decorated in the Georgian style.

Fantastic experience.

From first meeting Laura to the end of the evening it was amazing, she was so helpful.
The Crown looked amazing when it was all decorated. The weather was amazing and we had the outdoor games which went down well. The food was fantastic, drinks were good.
We had the best wedding day.

Magical day

Our wedding at this venue in one word… Wow!
From start to finish, the staff at The Crown Hotel were amazing. We chose the package that suited our budget and with the amount of people attending. The room was decorated with lights and the tables we decorated ourselves. We had lots of compliments regarding our wedding. Thank you to Laura, Robert and staff at The Crown for making our day rememberable.

A wedding weekend

Our wedding party pretty much took the hotel over for 3 nights in July with the wedding itself on day 2.
100 adults and abut 20 children.
Laura and the team did a super job front of house and the food was excellent, particularly given that it was banquet catering. Really tasty and hot. Well cooked and presented.
Our various request were accommodated and the day/weekend went really well. I'm very glad we chose the Crown to have our wedding!

Lovely Relaxed Venue

Laura was lovely, so helpful and accommodating, nothing was too much trouble. She did a fantastic job of organising our special day and catering to our needs. All of the staff were very professional and helpful, but Vince was absolutely fantastic and helped us both a lot on the day. The venue looked so nice, had a really lovely atmosphere and the food was amazing. All of our guests commented on how good the food was and how relaxed the day felt. We had the most amazing day and a lot of it was down to the hard work all of the staff put into our time there. If you are looking for a reasonably priced venue with great food, great staff and fantastic photo opportunities then The Crown is for you!

Our Wedding Day

We had an amazing wedding at the Crown Hotel in Blandford the food was excellent and the staff were friendly and helpful throughout the planning of the Wedding and on the day.

Excellent and professional.

Laura, Rob and there team were very supportive throughout and delivered everything we wanted. we were given food choices and were able to change them to suit us. Nothing was too much trouble and Laura did a fantastic job of putting the room together how we had asked. She displayed our decorations for us and made suggestions along the way. They were warm and welcoming on our arrival and a drink was waiting for us. The running of the reception ran very smoothly from the moment we arrived with the help of Roberts input. We were very lucky to have good weather to be able to have the use of the garden. Which was well equipped with table and chairs and even kept our guests warm in the evening with patio heaters. The team done a quick turn around for the evening and left tables and chairs around the room. We got to pick our evening buffet from a list of choices on the menu. And as part of there standard buffet, it came with a selection of sandwhiches and chips. we were really pleased with how the layout looked. Lisa from novia events done an amazing job of our mulberry chair sashes and the wall lighting around the room. This really gave it a warm touch. We were lucky enough to meet her at the wedding fair to match our colour scheme. She also sent samples in the post to make sure we had the right colour. An added luxury was being able to stay in the bridal suite which was included in the cost. We enjoyed our breakfast with some of our guests who also stayed at the hotel and was hastle free not having to clear up from the night before. Guests were all very happy and content on the day and we were delighted with how well it all went.

Flawless

We had our wedding with the Crown and it was fantastic. The staff and service were flawless, they were helpful and professional. They made our day run smoothly and helped with everything they could during the planning etc. Francesca and all the other staff who were there were friendly and happy, the high standard was fantastic. The food was incredible and I can not thank the crown hotel enough for making our wedding perfect for us!

Excellent

From the moment we started planning our wedding at the Crown Francesca and Robert and the team have been amazing. We felt very looked after and special. The day itself was run very well it was smooth with no fuss. The food was excellent all our guests enjoyed the day and evening. Also our guests that stayed over loved their rooms too.

Perfect wedding day

The bridal suite is gorgeous

We had a fab day and enjoyed returning to the bridal suite after our evening reception. The room is gorgeous and we enjoyed a relaxing bath in the roll top copper bath!

Beautiful

It was an absolutely fantastic day. The Crown looked beautiful and has been finished to a very high standard. We were able to relax and enjoy the day which was organised so perfectly by all of the team, especially Robert and Francesca who looked after us so well. This was echoed by a number of our guests who were grateful of all of their hard work.

Made so special by having it here

We had our wedding here and I'm so glad we chose the Crown as it was an amazing day. We couldn't fault a thing with the room, the staff or the venue itself. Our special day made so much more special having it here. We do need to mention Francesca and Robert as both were brilliant. All our guests commented on how brilliant the venue was. And the food! Oh my god! We couldn't have asked for anything more.
