Everyone wants their Wedding day to be perfect and and choosing the right venue for your big day is crucial.  Here at The Council House, we want to help you make it one of your most memorable days.  As one of the West’s most distinguished venues, The Council House offers an exceptional location for your special day, whether you choose us for a ceremony, a reception, a party, or a combination of these. For your ceremony, there is a choice of two unique rooms. The Lord Mayor’s Reception Room, can accommodate up to 50 guests, has a luxurious feel, with its walnut wood panelling, & elegant furniture. This room also offers a warm welcome & intimacy to the bride, groom & their guests. The 2nd choice is the Council Chamber, with its spectacular painted ceiling depicting Bristol throughout its history, holds up to 200 guests, & offers a certain formality & splendour with its pews & dais, which only the Council House can offer.

The Conference Hall is the largest of our rooms and is a wonderfully versatile space offering immense natural daylight, which can be tailored to suit any style of Wedding.  It can accommodate sit-down dinners & banquets for up 250, with space for entertainment & dancing, or it can be used for casual dining with more of an emphasis on informality & relaxation with friends & family.

Licensed for Wedding Ceremonies. The Council House in Bristol is one of the West's most distinguished & memorable venues for weddings. The long graceful curve of the building borders College Green - an oasis in the centre of the city for people to gather. Beautiful spacious foyer, which can be used to greet & gather. For your ceremony, there is a choice of two unique rooms. The Lord Mayor’s Reception Room & the Council Chamber. The Conference Hall is a wonderfully versatile room, which is invitingly light & airy in the daytime, but which can be made comfortable & intimate in the evening using softer lighting. Whatever you want for your wedding, we will do our very best to help make planning your special day a pleasure & for you to make your vision a reality, by listening & offering advice.

      Impressive Venue

      Civil Ceremony
      Thank you for all your help in connection with the use of the Lord Mayor''s reception room for the civil ceremony. It really is a fine room in which to hold such an event. All the arrangements you put in place were perfect and everything went like clockwork, which contributed highly to the enjoyment of the day. The other staff in the building were all very helpful. Everything was handled in an extremely efficient and professional manner

      Very Impressive
      The Council Chamber and Conference Rooms are a very impressive venue. The Council Chamber is particularly good for a wedding ceremony as the seats are very comfortable and have a good view of proceedings. Despite the size of the room it seemed like an intimate occassion

      Very Happy Wedding
      Everything was organised perfectly and we were all delighted with the Council House. What a lovely place for any event but particularly suited to a wedding. All the staff we met were so lovely, helpful and cheerful, nothing seemed to much to ask. A VERY BIG THANK YOU to everyone involved in making the day such a happy one - so smooth running, stress free and enjoyable. It really was a very happy wedding.
