Stourmouth House is one of east Kent's most beautiful country houses and is now available for boutique wedding weekends. The house is set amongst the charming Kent apple orchards and countryside, just 70 miles from London. This imposing Queen Anne house is grade II* listed and is set in its own private grounds, with sweeping gravel drive, a mature weeping willow, an ornamental fish pond and rose gardens. There are even exotic peaocks roaming around.
The house will be available for exclusive civil ceremonies, weddings, civil partnerships and home stays from Spring 2012.
The interiors of this chocolate box house are gorgeous, pannelled bedrooms and Victorian ensuite bathrooms. The house has recently been made very luxurious by its interior designer, providing every room with sumptious beds, linens and furnishings with exsquisite detailing.
Wedding banquets can take place in the dining room with evening receptions following on in the drawing room and elegant hall and other reception areas. Marquee or pretty garden pavillions can be erected in the gardens for al fresco dining.
Exceptional fresh local food, tailored to any taste is served by our in house chef, with hand picked local wines from Kent’s award wining Biddenden vineyard and other carefully selected producers.
The house has a capacity for 12 guests to stay over night/ weekend and a further 30 or so guests can be easily accommodated in equally opulent accommodation nearby. Weddings capacity is from 5 - 60 guests.
Whether you would like to relax and enjoy the house and its grounds, with a garden party and game of croquet, or explore the nearby historic towns of Canterbury and Sandwich, there is plenty of entertainment available. Whistable’s wonderful pebble beaches, with its eclectic array of shops and old fashioned pubs, as well as michelin star seafood and oyster restaurants, is just a short drive away. Golf, horse riding, fishing, shooting and country walks are on your door step.
