Only one let down
I could not fault the venue when it came to location, service, and quality of food as it was all 5 stars, and I was very impressed with the professional approach. On such a big occasion like a wedding you want everything to go as planned and the staff at Soar Mill Hotel delivered. …However there was one big let down. Like most weddings people like to get in the spirit and drink & dance the night away. The problem was at £4.00 for a 25ml shot & a further £3.00 for your mixer, £7.00 a drink made it very expensive. This resulted in a lot of the guest not being able to enjoy it as much as they would of liked and making the evening a disappointment because evening guests only stayed for one drink due to price. I hope this review brings this to people’s attention before booking and that Soar Mill look hard at this.

We wanted to write and thank you and your staff, very much indeed for the fantastic and most successful wedding you organised for Louise and Leo on May 30th. It was superb occasion, made all the more memorable by the glorious weather that day. A major part of the success was due to the efficiency of your hotel staff. Nothing was too much trouble for them, and we would be grateful if you could pass on our thanks to everyone involved for a job well done. This also extends to our guests, whose Thank You letters have been arriving daily, with compliments both to Louise and Leo and to your hotel staff. In addition, we must express our thanks to you Keith, for putting on such a splendid event, your consideration for the needs of the bride and groom, sometimes very odd needs, were handled smoothly by yourself and also specifically Irene, who many times took the lead to make sure things were in order and no loose ends forgotten. Nobody will forget the session on the beach, it was magic. And also the superb food, which gave everyone and authentic Devonshire experience, exactly as Louise envisaged. We will certainly make a point of staying in the Soar Mill Cove Hotel again before too long and I think several of our guests may also do so, it really is the hidden gem of the South Devon coast.

Over the moon with everything
Thank you and your fab staff for our great wedding that we had with you. We were over the moon with everything, the food, the service, the team, the atmosphere was ideal and the room light and airy. The hospitality was subtle and discrete but available when needed. The room was beautiful, we sat on the patio looking at the sunset, drinking a bit of Bollinger eating a great herbed cod it was fantastic.

Balance of luxury and comfort
Thank you for a super day. We found your hotel a perfect balance of luxury and comfort. The wedding breakfast was excellent and the staff friendly and eager to help. We were blessed with good weather, but I am sure the outstanding countryside is beautiful at any time. Thank you again we look forward to celebrating many anniversaries with you!
