The Harty Estate is a charming 16th-century wedding venue, beautifully situated by the tranquil waterside in Kent. Just an hour from London, this stunning location combines the rustic charm of the countryside with historic character. Surrounded by rolling farmland and picturesque landscaped gardens, it offers couples the perfect setting for a truly memorable day.
Tailored packages are available to suit all types of celebrations, whether it's an intimate gathering for 2-30 guests, a romantic Twilight ceremony, or a grand celebration with 300+ guests. With accommodation for 70+ guests, bespoke menus created by the 2AA Rosette awarded chefs, and a dedicated planning team, The Harty Estate ensures every couple enjoys the perfect start to their happily ever after.
The venue offers a range of stunning settings to suit all kinds of wedding styles:
- The Spring Barn hosts ceremonies and wedding breakfasts for up to 260 guests, and grand receptions for 350 guests.
- The Hop Barn provides a charming, rustic space for ceremonies of up to 130 guests, wedding breakfasts for up to 70, and evening receptions for up to 100, with its hop hung beams and twinkling fairy lights.
- For outdoor ceremonies, the Oak Gazebo offers a picturesque setting with space for up to 260 guests, with a beautiful estuary backdrop.
The Harty Estate also offers 11 elegant guest rooms on-site sleeping 22 guests, and couples can enjoy a complimentary night in a suite of their choice. Additionally, Mocketts Farm Cottages, just five minutes from the venue, provides comfortable accommodation for up to up to 53 guests, ensuring everyone can stay and celebrate together.

Beautiful Waterside Venue
My husband and I got married at The Ferry House in April and had the most incredible experience. From our first viewing in 2024 we were made to feel so special. Weddings are incredibly stressful, but The Ferry House team are so capable that they make the planning process feel easy.
We were able to stay the night before our wedding, and from the moment I arrived to check in to the room I was warmly welcomed by name and had the full VIP treatment. The room itself (the Waterside suite) was stunning, and the bed was so comfortable.
On the day, everything went calmly and smoothly thanks to the efforts of all of The Ferry House team who took such amazing care of us on the day and ensured everything was taken care of. All of our guests commented on how beautiful the venue is, the deliciousness of the food, and the attentiveness of the staff.
Our Ferry House wedding was absolutely magical, and I cannot recommend them enough to anyone considering getting married here.

It's not just about venue
Where do we start with this review? Well, if you are looking for a venue that has practically everything this is it. The staff are fantastic, they were brilliant from the day we booked it and even after the event. They were helpful all the way through the journey and on the day the staff we great. Our guests had the most amazing time and all said it was one of the best weddings they had been too. Granted the weather helped, but a mild sunny day in April made it perfect. The food was 10 out of 10, really do recommend the upgrade on the menu choices and wine. The in house DJ was also excellent. In fact everything went to plan, there was nothing negative just the perfect magical day.

Absolutely magical day
We got married at the Ferry House last Saturday and had the most amazing magical day and that was all down to the incredible team at The Ferry House.
Sam & Chloe were our wedding coordinators on the day and they were absolutely faultless, the day ran perfectly and that was all down to them both.
The food was incredible and every one of our guests commented on how amazing the food quality was.
The rooms were super comfortable.
The venue overall was just incredible, we would highly recommend anyone getting married to celebrate here.

Our Day - 05/12/2024
This venue is a hidden gem, we didn't know about it until we were looking at Venues and we instantly knew this was the place for us. Relaxed, rustic, caring and everything in one place! The venue itself is so warm and inviting with the log burning fires, rustic bar, barn and amazing surroundings. The team go above and beyond to make your day extra special.
The food selection is amazing, we had the hog roast which everyone commented on!

The perfect location for our winter wedding
Our winter wedding at The Ferry House was just perfect, and that is all thanks to the amazing team. The care and attention to detail they had to understanding our vibe and making our vision come to life was just second to none. We have so many amazing memories of the day and also the planning stages. The setting was beautiful, the food and drink were amazing, and the staff were all super friendly.
All of our guests loved everything about the day and are still talking about it now.

Perfect venue for our wedding
Our special day tailored to our exact requirements, staff professional from original viewing to the day, cannot thank them enough, what they always say about a good place is the staff make the venue, and they sure do at the ferry house. Beautiful venue in picturesque surroundings worth every penny

The Ferry house is an absolutely amazing , our wedding day was magical .
Our guests all said what a beautiful venue .
The food is outstanding and all the staff are very helpful. From the first planning meeting up to the day of the wedding .
Nothing was to much trouble if I had a query they was always at the end of email .
Myself and the bridal party stayed at the cottages the night before , this really added to the excitement of our wedding day .
The rooms at the Ferry house are decorated to a high standard and are very comfortable. The food is amazing.
We would highly recommend this venue . Our wedding day was perfect .

The perfect wedding venue
I don’t even know where to start - the Ferry House was the perfect venue for our big day. Nothing was too much trouble and they made the whole planning process so easy. I have worked at weddings myself and know how venues can sometimes be difficult and reluctant to help with certain things but not the Ferry House!
They decorated the venue with my diy decorations without any issues, they answered my constant emails (crazy quickly!) and even put up with me doing everything last minute!
The actual day itself, they were so helpful, excited for us and just made us feel amazing!
The venue is just absolutely gorgeous - nearly every guest came up to us on the day to tell us how amazing it was and they honestly felt it was the best wedding they had been to! All thanks to the Ferry House. If we could do it all again we would both choose the ferry house again in an instant.

It was absolutely stunning and took our breath away when we saw it decorated.
We stayed overnight and the rooms were beautiful, clean and really comfortable.
Our buffet breakfast in the morning was delicious, full of fresh produce.
The food did not disappoint, it was the best wedding breakfast meal we have had.
Congratulations on a top star venue and a brilliant team of staff from the washing up lady to the wedding planners (Maxine was especially brilliant and also our assigned host who never stopped smiling despite our requests for this and that).

The Best Team!
The best team of people you could ask for! Every single person we spoke with was so helpful and lovely to deal with. They made our day so special and run seamlessly! We couldn’t have asked for a better team!
The food and drink is the best around, locally sourced making it all taste so much better! And the views, away from everything so you can really soak in the day with your loved ones with no distractions!

Perfect! Best. Day. Ever!
Our wedding day was magical, it was perfect. Every single detail of the day was wonderful.
We opted for the 2 day wedding package. This gave us the fantastic opportunity to celebrate with our family and closest friends and spread our wedding over a few days. The day before we had time to relax and settle into our 5* stunning rooms (and be pampered with a massage) in the afternoon before spending the evening eating delicious food in the barn with our guests.
In the run up to the wedding, our coordinator was great. No question was too silly. She made a feel so comfortable from the beginning to the end. In fact, every member of their staff were amazing, to us, our children and all our guests.
The staff at The Ferry House took the stress out of our wedding day and everything ran smoothly. The personal touches and little gestures (postcards in the rooms and signage in the barn) from the team made us feel like we were special and they just couldn't do enough to make us feel comfortable.
We hired a band for our reception, however the Ferry House DJ was awesome too, our Garage set was out of this world and the Take That medley at the end was fantastic, especially the sneaky last song that topped the evening off - thank you.
The venue has a very rustic and warm feel, inside and outside. With the backdrop of the estuary and the stunning gardens (even at the beginning of spring they were beautiful) there were so many places to go for the perfect wedding photos. Every guest commented on the food - all either grown on site or sourced locally.
We can say with our hands on our hearts, that our wedding was the best day of our lives - truly magical. Thank you xxx
