We couldn’t have opted for a better place to get married, from the first time we went to look at the venue all the way up to our wedding the staff were absolutely incredible. I would especially like to thank Hannah it was a pleasure to have her as our wedding organiser she helped us day and night from the very start and I would just like to say a huge thank you to her. The venue was amazing, wonderful, beautiful, idyllic, and just simply amazing. I would highly recommend to have your wedding or any other events here we will be sure to returning in the future. The Bedford Hotel hosted our recent wedding. Hannah and Kay were fantastic from start to finish. They booked in regular meetings with us and nothing was too much trouble. Everything we asked for was accommodated and there was a real can do attitude. Dylan the general manager was excellent on the day. We couldn’t have picked a better venue for an intimate winter wedding. The Tavistock room was breathtaking. Thank you for everything!

Driving past the Bedford Hotel, it draws you in. The first time we went past one of us said, "this looks like such a cosy place" - we didn't know that we would get married there back then.

We were looking at options in the Cornwall/Devon area since one of us is from here. After exploring and evaluating lots and lots of options, we eventually realised that the Bedford does do weddings. After being in contact with the events team at the Bedford we quickly decided to go with it.

They were highly attentive, coming up with great suggestions and helping us create the wedding we wanted. Since getting married is something you most likely only do once in your lifetime, it helps to have someone knowledgeable about the ins and outs of the process, you really don't want to mess it up. We never felt anything but confidence having the team helping us with the wedding - they were proactively answering the questions we had and planning the food and catering for us.

We did table decoration ourselves and the Bedford really helped us provide the things we needed, some teamwork was required to make all the decoration work, but this wasn't a problem at all for either the Bedford or us, it turned out beautifully.

On the day itself, the GM and his team were there at beck and call all throughout the day, if anything unexpected had happened, I'm sure they would've managed it brilliantly.

Our guests coming from both the UK and abroad loved the hotel and Tavistock the town, it is a quintessential English market town in the southwest, perfect for our guests to explore on their own outside the wedding celebrations - which they did with childish delight.

If you're looking for a venue for your wedding that is intimate and that gives you a cosy feeling of home, go with the Bedford - the location, the team, the food and the hotel in itself deserve five out of five stars (at least according to us).

My now husband and I had such a beautiful wedding day at the Bedford Hotel, the staff were absolutely amazing and went above and beyond for us, the day went much much better than I ever could have expected it to go, there were no dramas and everything ran smoothly and on time. We had our ceremony in the Tavistock room, and wow what a set up, canapés and drinks in the beautiful setting of the walled garden and whilst that was going on they set the Tavistock room up for the wedding breakfast. When my husband and I saw the room set up we both almost cried as it was absolutely beautiful ❤️. The evening room also looked stunning. The food was absolutely amazing. I highly recommend this venue. All the staff there are absolutely amazing. Thank you so much to Kay, Hannah and Dylan especially ❤️❤️

We are so pleased that we chose the Bedford for our wedding, the hotel and gardens are beautiful and very picturesque. The booking was easy and the wedding team were supportive and attentive prior to and throughout the day. The hotel ensured our day went as smoothly as possible and did everything they could to accommodate all of our needs.

Oh my goodness where to even start! From our initial meeting right until the day was over, The Bedford team were fantastic. Set up was beautiful and the support from the team leading up was brilliant. We had an absolutely beautiful day and i could not recommend The Bedford Hotel, Hannah, Kay and Dylan enough! Thank you!

We can not praise The Bedford Hotel enough for our amazing wedding day. From the first call we made to them to enquire about the venue the staff were really helpful and could not do enough for us. Having called a couple of other venues where we had to fit into what they offered The Bedford was the other way round and offered to fit in with what we wanted.

The day went without a hitch, the staff knew exactly what they were doing, They ran the day so smoothly we did not need to worry about a thing which proved they have a wealth of experience.

All our guests agreed that the food was amazing, we thought it was also very good value for money. We had some guests with special diet requirements to which the hotel dealt with by offering alternatives without batting an eye.

We would recommend The Bedford Hotel to anyone looking to get married or hold an event they will make the day go better than you could imagine. We will be popping into the Hotel with a gift to offer a small thank you for all they have done for us.

Wonderful team that provided better than we could have imagined for our special day. Hannah and Kay were great to deal with, the venue was beautiful and full of character, despite bad weather outside, and the food was exceptional.

It's when the Bride is safely ensconsed in her room, with the hairdresser and a glass of champagne, and the groom appears downstairs, hoping desperately to get everything organised before the ceremony, flowers, cake, balloons, screens etc ....and a man appears at your shoulder and calmly says "Hello Mr *********, my name is ********. I am the Front of House Manager. What do you need ?"
That's the moment you know things are going to be alright.
This liaison with the hotel is reassuring, and allows for any last minute questions/ decisions.
The staff have done this before. They know what they are doing.
It all ran so smoothly, and we had a lovely day.

My daughter chose The Bedford hotel for her wedding reception. throughout the planning we were well looked after by Robynne the event organiser. We chose the Bedford as we had friends and family attending from all over the country and required somewhere with rooms to stay and also somewhere that would accommodate 90 plus guests for a sit down meal and 150 for the evening reception.

The day was sunny and warm and we were lucky enough to have canapés and welcome drinks in the beautiful garden. The reception room was immaculately presented and we were able to go in the day before to add own touches.

The meals were delicious and warm - quite a feat when they were catering for so many. All our guests complimented us on their meals and the service and we were lucky enough to be able to offer them a choice of 3 starters, 3 mains and 3 desserts with their invitation. Leanne who managed the catering side of the day was amazing, friendly, efficient and professional as were all the staff, even when guests proceeded to let off party poppers and mini frisbees to "break the ice" at the start of the meal.

Thank you a potentially stressful but delightful time was made extra special by this venue and its wonderful staff.

We have just used the Bedford for our wedding, absolutely all round great service, from the initial appointment up to the wedding itself. The wedding breakfast excellent, our guests all had a fabulous time. Many happy memories.

We have just had our Daughters wedding reception at the Bedford Hotel. It was absolutely perfect. The staff were so helpful and accommodating which really helped make it such a memorable day. The food was superb. The room was stunning and the whole day was so relaxed and enjoyable. Would really recommend you check this hotel out if you are looking for a wedding venue. The setting is just right but it was the staff that go the extra mile to make sure they day is perfect that really makes the difference.
