The Bear of Rodborough Hotel offers a selection of beautiful indoor and outdoor event spaces to host all aspects of your wedding. The venue is licenced to host civil ceremonies on-site, allowing you to hold your entire day here. The Terrace Room is a bright and airy space that offers beautiful views of the surrounding scenery through ample large windows. Here, you and your beloved can exchange your wedding vows surrounded by 70 of your nearest and dearest. For a Summer ceremony in the open air, the Croquet Pavillion is an ideal location where you can walk up a red-carpet aisle, surrounded on all sides by stunning natural landscape. The Bear Pavilion and Garden provides a delightful space to host a drinks reception and have your wedding photos taken. This area benefits from a built-in bar, giving your guests the opportunity to sip champagne and mingle while they take in the luscious views. For your wedding breakfast, The Library Restaurant supplies a warm and inviting atmosphere suitable for up to 90 seated guests. Here, thick tartan carpet, a wood-log archway, and bookend wallpaper create a rich aesthetic. This room can serve as the setting for both your seated meal and evening reception for your convenience.
The hotel also boasts 45 individually-designed guest rooms that you and your guests can utilize for a restful overnight stay before and after your event. Each room offers comfort and luxury and guests can enjoy a complimentary breakfast the following morning.

The food was delicious; we chose afternoon tea for our wedding breakfast, which was the perfect choice for a very hot summers day!

We struck gold!
The Bear is unique. The first thing that must strike any visitor to The Bear is its extraordinarily beautiful location! The views from the hotel, with its high position within a huge expanse of rural beauty, is just breathtaking!
But The Bear does not rely on its geographical location alone to make it attractive. As one enters the hotel it is immediately apparent that the interior is full of character and charm with its many intriguing nooks and crannies. The bar is well-stocked and the rooms offer comfort, convenience and variety that make this a suitable venue for those guests with mobility issues.
From the first time we met with Amanda and the team we knew we had struck gold. Nothing was too much trouble and our ideas and changes-of-mind were always received with flexibility and willingness to accommodate the many personal touches that we wished to incorporate into our small family wedding.
We needed to accommodate 25 guests and the Terrace Room worked perfectly for our ceremony, wedding breakfast and evening entertainment. We also had use of the Garden Room, with its cosy, blazing log fire, and the Marquee, which, when warmed with the efficient and silent heaters, offered a sizeable and comfortable space for larger groups of guests to sit and talk.
The food was outstanding and this vital aspect of our day offered yet another example where the restaurant manager and the chef were wonderfully accommodating. Our guests’ dietary needs were easily met and the service, appearance and, most importantly, taste of the food were superb.
If all this wasn’t enough, just across the road is a renowned ice cream factory, where the local Winstones ice cream is made, sold and delicious! Who knows…this, too, might become a feature of your wedding at The Bear!
