Located in Greenwich, South East London, the Queen’s House is a truly unique, iconic, and stylish wedding venue. Conceived as a ‘House of Delight’ for James I’s queen, this exquisite former royal residence in England is set in the green and leafy surroundings of Greenwich Park, London, with spectacular views across the gardens of historic Greenwich to the River Thames and the contrasting skyscrapers of Canary Wharf beyond.

Facilities and Capacity

Designed by the pioneering architect Inigo Jones, the Queen’s House is a masterpiece of 17th-century architecture. The house is now filled with art and design classics, both old and new, including paintings by great British and European masters. The Queen’s House, a royal retreat, was designed as a place of pleasure and celebration – a tradition that continues today.

From drinks on the lawns with sweeping park views to unforgettable ceremonies and dinners, the Queen’s House is a very special place to celebrate. The Great Hall can accommodate up to 120 guests within its impressive walls. The Great Hall enjoys views over the Thames and boasts a magnificent black and white marble floor. In addition, there are stunning photographic opportunities in the beautiful grounds and stone colonnades, ideal for capturing special moments for your wedding album.

Services Offered

Part of what makes the House so special is its adaptability. Whether your style is highly contemporary, traditional romance or baroque, the iconic geometric interiors are suited to each – a rare quality in a historic house. You can tailor your dream wedding to suit you by choosing from the range of event spaces offered and working with some of the House's trusted suppliers. The Queen’s House has an extraordinary history; it is the only major remnant of the vanished Tudor royal palace at Greenwich, where Henry VIII and Elizabeth I were born, and the centrepiece of what is now a UNESCO World Heritage Site.

Stunning venue

I had seen pictures of the venue on Hitched and on a few other sites but I wasn't quite sold. My husband's dad is a member of the maritime museums and asked if we would consider it and we then thought, we may as well have a look. The second we got there and we saw the venue in real life was a jaw dropping moment. It got even better once we had the tour. Stunning. I think we immediately confirmed.

Now that we've had our perfect wedding at the venue I couldn't be happier. All the guests couldn't quite believe the place. The great hall, the orangeries, the undercroft and the Tulip stairs are such massive highlights here.

Also, a massive thank you to David Taylor. He was such incredible help and support in planning our day. He was on hand to answer the 100's of questions we had, and was there in person to take us round every time we visited. He was also our MC and did such a perfect job. My whole family was super thrilled with his services. The whole day went like clockwork. I can't thank him enough.

I would recommend the Queen's House in a heartbeat. It was perfect for our wedding of about 75 guests.

Amazing from start to finish

Samantha was amazing, so professional and brilliant at her job, she made everything so smooth and took the stress out of planning a wedding for us. The venue itself is stunning and well worth the price for the pictures alone, our guests loved it.

Amazing Venue, Even Better Staff

This amazingly gorgeous venue was the location for the best day of our lives, the rooms are beautiful and while the majority of the building remains open as a museum during use as a venue you would never know there were others in the building as it is managed so well. Leading up to the wedding, David answered countless questions and met with us a few times to make sure we all knew exactly what would happen and when and recommended a location for our first look photos, which turned out perfect. He liaised with other vendors so we did not have to chase after specifics and was just lovely to see every time. I was a bit concerned I would be trying to manage the day and be a clock-watching bride but David always had everything running seamlessly, everyone knew what was happening and when, and he managed the guests with a sense of humour. We noticed on the day that he was limping a bit and apparently he had broken his toe earlier and still came in and ran around like crazy for 12 hours to make the wedding the best day of our lives – the man is a legend!
