Mottram Hall was the perfect venue for our wedding. From the moment we booked through to the day itself, everything was so well organised and ran smoothly. The team were professional, attentive, and made sure everything came together exactly as we wanted.

The space looked beautiful and created such a great atmosphere for both the ceremony and reception. The food was excellent and the service throughout the day was spot on.

We felt completely taken care of, which made the whole experience so much more enjoyable. We couldn’t have asked for a better venue for our wedding day.

I don’t usually write reviews, but I feel it’s important to share my experience for other couples considering this venue for their wedding.

You may have seen a clip on At Home with the Furys where they hosted a party at Mottram Hall, this took place the night before my wedding. What wasn’t shown, however, was the chaos that came with it. Hundreds of travellers descended on the venue, and the party continued into the early hours. My suite overlooked the front entrance, and throughout the night all I could hear was fighting, glass smashing, golf buggies being overturned, and the venue being completely trashed.

It was honestly terrifying. I was in tears with my bridesmaid in our suite while someone was banging on our door. It became so serious that security had to be stationed on the stairs to protect guests. My parents and my husband were staying in other suites and were equally panicked, worried about what would be left of the venue the next day.

It was every bride’s worst nightmare — the night before your wedding is supposed to be special, calm, and full of excitement. Instead, I felt unsafe, anxious, and completely overwhelmed. I didn’t get a single minute of sleep, which left me exhausted on the day itself, but I had no choice other than to put on a brave face and go ahead as planned.

To give credit where it’s due, the hotel staff did their very best to recover the situation. By the next day, the grounds had been cleared to a point where most of my guests would have had no idea what had happened the night before. Unfortunately, some of my guests couldn’t even check into rooms they had paid for because they had been so badly damaged. That said, the wedding team themselves were fantastic - I genuinely couldn’t fault them, and the day itself went ahead without a hitch.

However, despite how well the day turned out, the experience the night before has left a lasting impact. The venue did apologise and acknowledged that hosting that party the night before a wedding should never have happened. They said they would have refused the booking had they known who it was for, although given certain affiliations, I’m not entirely convinced by that. They did offer us an overnight stay and spa experience as a gesture of goodwill, which was appreciated — but many would agree it doesn’t quite make up for what happened. I felt a partial refund for our package, or refund for the 3 suites we paid for for the night prior should have been offered at the very minimum.

If I could turn back time and choose my wedding venue again, unfortunately, I wouldn’t choose this one. It’s heartbreaking to say, but one of the strongest memories tied to what should have been the most special time of my life is now overshadowed by the distress and fear I experienced the night before.

We got married at Mottram Hall on 29/12/2025 and it was the most amazing day. From all the planning to on the day, the staff at Mottram were amazing throughout and could not do enough for us. Everything that you get included in the package is incredible, the food and drinks tasting, the honeymoon suite, the toastmaster and more. The venue itself was perfect for what we wanted, beautiful spaces to have pictures everywhere. On the day the food was just as amazing as it was when we tried it, everything went so smoothly and the staff made the day absolutely amazing! We couldn’t thank them enough. We would highly recommend having your wedding at Mottram Hall!

We got married October 2024 and had the most wonderful day! From when we booked our day to the days after, the professionalism and service was amazing. All the guests and vendors commented on how well organised everything was, the whole day ran so smoothly, we felt totally relaxed and looked after.. I would highly recommend Mottram hall to anyone getting married, the value for money is out of this world!

We married at Mottram Hall 3 weeks ago, what a beautiful location! The weather wasn't kind to us (apparently it's supposed to be lucky if it rains on your wedding day?!) however we have gorgeous pictures as Mottram's interior is just as beautiful as the outside! I would just like to start by saying from the first moment we booked our wedding with yourself at Mottram Hall, it's been such a lovely experience.
Yourself and all the other staff around the hotel have been amazing.
Katrina was on the ball all day, everything was where I expected it to be and if it couldn't be done she came to ask me if her plan b was ok to do. Shes such a lovely women so please thank her again for everything.
I would like to thank James who on Friday night was giving me morning wedding advice and on the morning of the wedding he caught me at the bottom of the stairs to remind me of his advice and he was right, as soon as I got to the other end of that aisle my best friend was waiting for me. :)
I wanted to send you a few photos/videos just so you get to see each part of our day as you've heard my plans for 2 years and it will be nice for you to see it in action.

We got married at Mottram Hall in September and it was a truly amazing day. From the moment we booked this place the Netty was attentive and incredibly helpful. On the day Joel also went above and beyond before and during the wedding. The rooms are beautiful, the food is incredible, the gardens are amazing and above all else you’re always welcomed with a smile.
Such a special place to us.

Firstly, I just want to say thank you to you Alex. From start to finish you've been fantastic and made everything so easy! It was such a relief to be able to pop you over a quick email, and know that you were there to help us with anything we needed.

Next, I'd like to thank all of the staff who took care of us on the wedding day. Honestly, the day couldn't have been more perfect.

Peter, the toastmaster was absolutely fantastic. On the day of the wedding he made sure everything was running like clockwork. It was lovely to know that I didn't have to worry about anything and that Peter would be there to guide us through the entire day. Especially when it came to walking down the aisle, he managed to make things so relaxing!

Joel was extremely helpful and accommodating. Anything we asked for before / on the day he did with a smile on his face. The room set up was fantastic, all the things we'd given over were set up exactly as we wanted and I knew that if I needed anything else during the day I'd only have to speak to Joel and it would be sorted. I'd also like to thank Paul for when he took over the night shift, again everything ran like clockwork.

Alison also did a fantastic job with the decorating. The room looked perfect, better than I could have imagined!

Everyone we worked with throughout the entire process was so accommodating, helpful and genuinely happy to help us and determined to make our day exactly what we wanted. For that, I just want to say thank you on behalf of me and my new husband.

Everything was amazing from beginning to end. It was honestly such a perfect day! All of our guests were blown away by the food, the service and of course the spectacular venue, which looked even better in the sunshine (all that crossing of fingers must have worked). All we kept hearing from our friends and family was how nobody could believe how stunning a wedding it was, and all pulled off in less than 5 months!

The rooms for the wedding party were lovely so, again, thank you so much for organising them. It was really nice to be close together and we couldn't have imagined a better setting to be getting ready for the big day in. We also really appreciated the little touches like the card and bottle of prosecco in our room.

Please do pass on our thanks to James, Joel and Katrina for all their efforts on the day. We felt like we were in safe (but fun) hands the entire time and it really allowed us to relax and enjoy the day without any worries about timings or logistics. We wouldn't have been able to have such a magical day without them. Thanks again for everything and to the whole team!

Netty, just wanted to thank yourself and your team for making my wedding perfect! You've all been amazing! I had everyone comment on how friendly Paul was and how he didn't miss a single detail! He was completely on the ball. The room was beautiful and the staff went out of their way to help us with any small thing we needed. The food was gorgeous, everyone commented on what a beautiful day it was. Thank you for answering all my questions all year whilst planning and for putting me in touch with Alison who dressed the room beautifully. Our wedding was absolutely perfect, we loved every second apart from how fast it went!! Thank you so much Netty for helping me the year and a half before! And making us feel so special every time we came, my hen do was amazing too!! Paul was absolutely perfect, really made us feel at ease on the handover, and on the day he was there constantly along with the toastmaster helping the day run smoothly and really helped us to celebrate at the quiet moments bringing us drinks etc, the food was gorgeous and even better than the wedding menu tasting! We didn't have any of the buffet but apparently that was amazing too! And Joel was great in the evening after Paul left he was giving out flip flops and slippers to all the women which they loved! Everyone afterwards was telling us it's the best venue they've been too even the fussy ones!! Thanks so much.
