We got married here 3 weeks ago and had THE most perfect wedding you could wish for.
Ours was a last-minute wedding, (only booked in March) and from initial contact with Megan and follow-on support from Lyndsey, the whole process ran smoothly. Nothing was too much trouble and they have so much experience, they know the answers to all your questions.
It was a large wedding, with 145 guests, and we had full use of the hotel on the most stunning day of the year. Hot weather meant we could have our ceremony outside in the beautiful grounds and enjoy the lakeside terrace late into the evening. The conservatory makes a fabulous setting for the wedding breakfast, entertainment and disco, and the food and wine were fantastic.
Lyndsey was on hand most of the day as wedding co-ordinator, making sure that everything ran smoothly and on time, and then Robbie took over for the rest of the evening. (We even had a medical emergency which he took care of). You are in safe hands with these two.
Our guests said it was the best wedding they had been to, and this was thanks to the stunning hotel and relaxed, but professional manner of the staff.

Have to say I was impressed with this venue / price at the beginning and with our initial enquiries. However, as our wedding got nearer to the date, we were let down… we had our meeting in the lead up to the wedding where we sat down with everything we required for day (I even produced a booklet for everything that needed to be done). We had several wedding coordinators throughout our planning process, but a week before our wedding we went to email our ‘final’ coordinator and we were then surprised to get an out of office message to say the coordinator was on annual leave for two weeks (including our wedding date) with no prior warning or handover. Due to this lack of communication / handover we were left on the day with several decorations that were not correct. There were candles placed in jars which flowers were due to go in and should have been filled with water. We were also let down by on the day with the catering. We’d paid for nearly 100 guests to have x3 canapés. On the day, we were lucky if 30 guests were offered canapés. Myself and husband as bride and groom were not even offered any! I had to ask my bridesmaids partner to find some before I passed out! On his way back from the kitchen (by request) he was hassled by many guests to have the canapés who had clearly not been offered any. The issues with catering didn’t end there. We selected a baked vanilla cheesecake and the last table of friends to be served were offered a different cheesecake which was raspberry. Not a big issue for most, but when you’ve gone through a tasting and sent in a specific amount of desserts ordered you’d expect what you ordered to be supplied. My friends said it looked like they’d run out and just went to Tesco and got a cheesecake in. This then meant these guests didn’t eat dessert because they did not like what they were offered. Again, the evening do we ordered x120 people bbq and the burgers ran out before we even got there. Again, I feel like the venue cut numbers but charged us full price and did not supply what we wanted. I was also assured my friend who was gluten free would be accounted for. When she asked for the gluten free canapés she was just shown what was on offer and to everyone (even though I was assured she would receive a separate portion to specific for her). Although the venue was nice, these things just let the day down and it is a shame to hear these stories from guests who were also let down on the day.

Amazing, amazing, amazing. That sums up Mere Court. From the start of planning to the finish of our big day the could not accommodate us more. Megan and James were so professional throughout the planning phase and they delivered and more on thr big day. All of the guests could not compliment the venue enough. If you want a beautiful countryside setting which is steeped in history... Book the Mere Court. You won't regret it

Lyndsey and Megan were absolutely amazing when we had our wedding here on 7th September. From the minute we booked the venue nothing was too much trouble - Lyndsey was always at the end of the phone or email. I really can not put into words how amazing the day was and this was down to the staff at mere court. On the day everything was swiftly turned around and we didn’t have to think about anything because Lyndsey and Megan were already 2 steps ahead! Food was perfect as were the rooms. this venue is also very reasonably priced compared to other venues we got a lot more for our money compared to others in the area. I would highly recommend mere court thank you so much for everything x

We had our wedding here on Saturday, it was perfect from start to finish. The whole day ran so smoothly and the lead up to it was made so easy and stress free by the amazing team. Nothing was too much trouble for them and they went above and beyond to look after us and our guests.
The grounds are stunning, the food was delicious and the hotel itself was the perfect venue for our intimate wedding.
We wish we could do it all again and again, we can't thank you enough for making our day absolutely perfect!

Myself and my now husband absolutely love this venue. Mere court staff are absolutely fantastic and cater to all your wants and needs. They really made our wedding day special. The grounds are stunning.

The perfect setting for a romantic and intimate wedding. As we had a winter wedding the hotel was very flexible in allowing us to use a different room for the ceremony, the wedding breakfast and the reception. The Duty Manager acted as our Master of Ceremonies and could not have been more helpful. I would wholeheartedly recommend the venue to anyone in the Cheshire area.

I was married here in July 2003 - all that i can say is that is was the most perfect venue. The grounds are lovely and the new conservatory made for a wonderful wedding breakfast setting. The staff were superb and did more than we could ever have wished for.
