Facilities and Capacity
Cragwood Country House Hotel is suitable for intimate and medium-sized weddings, capable of hosting up to 120 people. You and your partner can exchange your vows at the beautiful lakeside ceremony site. Here, you can say "I do" while your nearest and dearest admire the idyllic Lake Windermere. This area is also a fine place to enjoy a photography session. After, you and your guests are free to head inside to dine and dance in the ballroom. In addition to its event spaces, the hotel boasts 23 opulent bedrooms.

Perfect New Years Eve 2025 Wedding
The wedding coordinators Hannah and Mathilda looked after us with so much care and attention, before, during and after our wedding.
We had a number of visits and meetings before hand and nothing was too much trouble for them.
We attended an Open Day where we got to look at every room in the hotel. This assured us all our guests were getting a quality room to stay in.
The bridal suite is exceptional, the four poster bed, comfy arm chairs, lots of space for the wedding morning hair and makeup. Plus the views of the lake and fells from two side of the room were amazing.
The food is impressive and delicious, starting with the pre wedding night Italian buffet, we booked for all our guests. Then the wedding day canapés, main meal and evening hot buffet were all served with precision. All our guests booked told us how much they’d enjoyed the food, which was indeed superb.
I was very nervous and anxious in the lead up to our wedding but on our arrival at venue, we were met with a hug from Stacey the Hotel Manager and Hannah and Mathilda.
That meant so much, after that we felt totally welcome and at home. We relaxed from that moment and had the most perfect four days there.
Stacey runs a wonderful hotel, where every member of the Cragwood team was friendly and helpful to us and all our guests.

Fantastic stay and location
The day went smoothly and there were no issues at all , Hannah had delivered what was set out and we were over the moon with everything.
Food was excellent, rooms and house was immaculately clean and the staff were beyond generous in their time and manners .
Can’t wait to return for a chill out wk end .
Well done cragwood and Hannah is a credit to the place .

Meet the team
Hannah joined Cragwood in 2021 as Assistant Wedding Coordinator and was soon promoted to Wedding Coordinator thanks to her calm approach and natural warmth. Friendly and down to earth, she instantly puts couples at ease and takes genuine pride in ensuring every wedding – whether intimate or grand – runs smoothly and effortlessly.
She has played an integral role in the team’s success, helping Cragwood achieve both regional and national awards for Best Wedding Venue.
Top tip: always meet with your wedding coordinators when you arrive. Hand everything over and put trust in them to make your plans come to life, leaving you to relax with your friends and family.
Mathilda joined the team as Assistant Wedding Coordinator in 2025 and instantly became a friendly, reassuring presence for every couple who walks through our doors. She believes marriage is the epitome of love, and feels genuinely honoured to play even a small part in such a meaningful moment in people’s lives.
Passionate about the wedding industry, Mathilda takes great pride in helping bring each couple’s vision to life. She brings enthusiasm, care, and meticulous attention to detail to everything she does!
