Fantastic day
When we first visited the Red Lion we were so surprised how it had changed. We booked our wedding and from the time we booked to the day of our wedding the staff couldn't be more helpful. On the day it was fantastic, service was good, food was excellent and the staff friendly, a perfect combination to make Our Perfect day.

What a great day
In the end of last year our friends held a small wedding reception at the Red Lion hotel, We all had a wonderful day, and the hotel was very nice. The Majority of the staff were very friendly, the only exception would be the young receptionist on duty in the morning Emma I think, was very surley and more interested in her mobile phone than helping the bride when requested.

Superb, would recommend
I recently attended my friends wedding at The Red Lion Hotel. The morning of the wedding came and the flowers were nothing like they were supposed to be. My friend was devastated. The General Manager, Mark took the problem out of our hands and had everything sorted. Within an hour we had a beautiful bouquet and were ready to go. It is definitely a venue I would recommend to couples for their wedding. My friend’s wedding was beautiful. The General Manager, Mark made the day go so smoothly. He was really friendly and welcoming to all my friend’s guests. Nothing was too much trouble.

Great fun!
It was a very hot day last summer but it was great having drinks out in the courtyard which had sheler for the kids. Air con inside was essential, worked well too. The day was great fun which was down to the staff mainly who were efficient but realy freindly, not all stuffy like some hotels.

Excellent
I was out shopping and found the Red Lion Hotel in Basingstoke, & popped in for a cuppa, and was very pleasently suprised, where the rest of the old town was looking a bit tired and dated, the Red Lion was fresh & Modern and the choice of coffee's on offer was brilliant. I had a look around the hotel whilst I was there and I am now looking to hold my evening wedding reception there when I return from getting married in Cuba in October of this year.

Lovely nights stay
I was a guest at a recent wedding held at the Red Lion Hotel and I was very impressed with the hotel and especially the bedrooms, ours was lovely with old fashioned features and for a town centre location was very quiet. I would definately return to this hotel for a weekend break

Just wanted to say Thank You so much for everything. We had an absolutely amazing wedding day, it just couldn't have been better and was definitely the happiest I've ever been. Mark Nicholson was just fantastic nothing was a problem, he was outstanding and so many people commented to us how great he was, also the catering staff, the waitresses & waiters were so happy & friendly & that really made a big difference to everyone. I hope they enjoyed it as much as we did although seeing as they were working I doubt it!

What a great day
I can honestly say that from start to finish there wasn't a thing we were disappointed with. On the day, Mark & Kieron ensured that it went smoothly and the evening flowed really well too. It couldn't have been better. Everyone complimented the food and I would say more about the buffet but unfortunately I was so busy, I didn't get much of it. Never mind, made up for it when we went on honeymoon !

I was a guest at the wedding of Mr and Mrs Mays in April 2006, and I was very impressed, the hotel was not how I imagined it and I was very impressed with the decor and friendiness of the staff. The Manager on the Day Mr Butcher did an excellent job or ensuring every thing ran smoothly, and I think my niece was very taken with him!!!! I would have no hesitation in recommending the venue and am sure you will many good comments from other guests of the day.

Thank you very much for your hospitality and kindness on our stay at your hotel on Clare and Lee's wedding on 21st January 2006. We stayed overnight can we say that the hotel is lovely, the food was top notch. All waitressing staff were lovely and nothing was too much bother. We were very well looked after and thoroughly enjoyed our stay. We shall recommend your hotel to family and friends.

Faultless
I was a guest at a civil partnership which took place at the Red Lion this month, and would like to say how well the event was managed, the Master of Ceremonies Kieron was excellent at taking control and ensuring the day ran smoothly but also not being in the way. The food and service was faultless and I would recommend this hotel for any event.

I attended a wedding at the Red Lion and i had to let people know that the whole day was first class. The staff were excellent especially Lorraine who was always around to help. Well done the red Lion frist class
