Ramster Hall

Ramster Hall is a beautiful privately owned and much loved house located in stunning countryside and surrounded by famous Ramster Gardens.  The Long Hall and Great Drawing Room are magnificent beamed and paneled halls, over 100 feet long, dating back to 1604. A vast inglenook fireplace in the Long Hall, with a blazing log fire, gives a lovely warm welcome in the winter, while summer weddings can make the most of the secluded enclosed courtyard an ideal location for pictures and your reception drinks.

The Long Hall can accommodate any number up to 160 for a wedding breakfast, or up to 200 for a stand-up reception.

The Great Drawing Room, adjoining the Long Hall, is licensed for civil marriages. This beautiful and friendly room can be arranged for any size of wedding up to 160 guests.

Every civil wedding ceremony is different, and is planned uniquely for the Bride and Groom, their family and friends. Music is provided by our built in music system, or the grand piano. String quartets, harpists and the amazing Two Cellos are also very popular.

Catering is all done by our in house caterers, who have a fantastic reputation for providing the most excellent food. 

We have fantastic facilities,  modern fully equipped kitchens, beautiful toilets including baby change and a disabled toilet, plenty of parking and everything to make a sucessful day.

Everyone says the photos don’t do the halls and house justice, so come and see for yourself.  Ramster Hall is the perfect setting for an English Country Wedding.

Summary information

We don't charge you corkage and neither do our caterers. Ramster Hall is our much loved home - as we are owner run we can be flexible and you will always get friendly and efficient service. Surrounded by a stunning mature flowering shrub garden of over 20 acres, perfect locations for photos. We have our own in-house professional DJ, who will play any music you choose, or you can arrange your own live music. We have plenty of quality local accommodation, with The Stables being ideal for first night accommodation just 100m metres away. We can reccommend a huge variety of different suppliers, florists to harpists, toast masters to taxis!

      Cozy, Friendly, Absolutely Perfect
      We got Married and had our Wedding Reception at Ramster in October 2011 and it was perfect. Rosie from Ramster was so helpful in the lead up to the wedding, giving us all the help and advice we needed as well as keeping me calm. Jacaranda provided amazing food (which is still one of the fist comments guests say to us when we talk about the wedding) and ran the day for us, taking away all the worry and pressure. The venue was beautiful, cozy and homely but in a very special way. We luckly had amazing weather and put the courtyard to good use. I loved how we had the whole venue to ourselves for the whole day so all the guests could make themselves at home and relax,and just enjoy the food and atmosphere and only worry themselves about getting on the right bus to their hotel at the end of the night. A perfect wedding!

      Simply Magical
      We held our wedding reception at Ramster on Friday 2nd December and it was a beautiful evening. It was the first venue we viewed and we knew immediately it would make for the perfect winter wedding. So many of the guests commented on how much they loved the Brick Hall and the Drawing Room as well as the main Hall. The DJ and caterers were also brilliant. A magical occasion.

      A perfect day in a perfect venue
      We used Ramster for our wedding on Saturday 3rd December 2011 and we had the perfect day. The venue was stunning and all the guests commented on this. Rosie and her team were excellent and a real support.

      Perfect venue and perfect wedding!
      We recently held our wedding reception at Ramster Hall and we would highly recommend the venue. Rosie the venue owner was so lovely and approachable and couldn't do enough for us. We had booked at another similar venue in Midhurst and had an awful experience with the venue owner so we took the very tough decision to cut our losses and move our wedding to Ramster Hall 9 days before the wedding! Very stressful as you can imagine but it was totally the right decision as we really wanted it to be an enjoyable day filled with happy memories of the venue. What had been an unhappy, stressful and frustrating process for the last year was suddenly a happy, hasslefree and enjoyable experience and we can't praise Ramster enough! Thank you Ramster Hall for saving our wedding day - we will be eternally grateful! A bit about the venue - one big bonus is that it has a lovely outdoor courtyard but also another stunning reception room (separate from the wedding breakfast room) so it works well for a drinks reception come rain or shine. It's a venue that would be beautiful and cosy all year around - both summer and winter. You can also use the Ramster gardens for your couple photos which are really pretty. We loved our wedding at Ramster - it was the perfect day in the perfect setting! One word of advice during your venue search, if you get a bad vibe from a venue owner then go with your gut instinct - it's usually right (no matter how beautiful a venue is it's not worth month's of stress and aggravation trust me!!).       Amazing!
      We had an amazing time at Ramster. Rosie was great and worked really well with Jacaranda caterers. Ramster was a perfect place to get married, we wouldn't hesitate to recommend it. Once you visit you'll see for yourself how perfect it is!

      AMAZING - 5 stars not adequate!!
      Words cannot reveal the true beauty of ramster - she has to be seen to be believed We had the best wedding ever....... I maybe bias but many of the guests said that it was also (some even sighed that it was better than their own - so that must surely count for something) Rosie and all of the jacaranda staff are outstanding, we would not have changed a thing Also if you are thinking that a DJ would not be able to give the same atmosphere as a band then you haven't met Mark the house DJ - he kept the floor busy all night long AMAZING!!

      Fabulous historic location
      We had a fantastic wedding reception at Ramster. The service provided is first rate and the room spacious and beautiful not to mention the gardens. Above all we appreicated the family-style approach - we were made to feel like guests rather than part of an anonymous wedding package. Highly recommended!

      Snow, but the show goes on!
      Our wedding day so special. Ramster Hall is absolutely stunning, a fabulous location for such an important day, and the snow made it feel like a winter wonderland! The staff were great every step of the way and especially for clearing the drive and pulling cars out of the snow! Despite the weather the day went without fault. Testament to you and your wonderful staff. We really appreciated the unlimited access you gave us to Ramster in the run up to the wedding. It made the planning and preparation so easy and stress free. We will have special memories of our wedding day and the magical location that is Ramster.

      Amazing Place!
      We got married here last year and our guests were totally in awe of the wonderful surroundings - the photos dont do this place justice its even better when you see it for real! Can not reccommend the service and surrounding highly enough, I wish I could do it all again!

      Ramster was perfect
      Ramster was perfect and looked fantastic on the day. It really was just what we wanted, providing more than enough space, as well as beautiful surroundings. We have had so many comments on what an awesome venue it is! Wonderful reccommended local suppliers too Jacaranda really are brilliant, as were Mark the DJ, Henry Wells the photographer and Kate Avery for flowers. Everyone was so friendly and professional, which made everything so easy.

      A most beautiful of wedding venue
      A most beautiful of wedding venue, it was so lovely and exceeded all our expectations. I have lost track of how many people made a point of coming up and saying how beautiful Ramster is. It truly looked stunning and was just the perfect setting for our celebrations. Everyone had huge fun and it was really difficult trying to get them to stop and get back on the coach!

      So happy we chose Ramster for our wedding
      We got married at Ramster in June and are over the moon that we chose it. Like some of the other reviewers, guests old and young told us it was the best wedding they had ever been to. The venue has so much character without being pretentious and we liked the fact we got married in one room and had our meal in another. Somehow we didn't want to eat our food in the same place as we said our vows. Jacaranda's food was delicious and we had a sunny day so have some gorgeous photos taken in the gardens. Buying own own alcohol was an added bonus - we bought too much but took it back and it must have saved us a fortune. Highly recommend Ramster and just wish we could do it all over again!
