Unique, fab experience
By Lancashire, on 12 May 2015
We had a two night stay at this wonderful hotel for our anniversary. This exquisite hotel is in a beautiful location, with fabulous views of the Menai Straits, about a mile from the bridge. The décor is amazingly grand, yet still warming and inviting. The building itself is so like a fairy tale castle, with wonderful gardens to explore reaching down to the shore. We were staying in the Bangor room 6 with views of the pier and Great Orme from one window. t was a very bright, cheerful room with an en suite wet room in the turret - fabulously different on the 5th floor ( reception on the 4th )
Our two night stay included breakfast and one evening meal. The food was fabulous, staff tentative to guest needs, professional and really chatty, which made a great change to other hotels we've stayed in the UK recently - all a part of the holiday which so many hotels get wrong these days. We met some lovely folk in the hotel and we're given a recommendation of other places to eat in the area ,which we found value especially to folk who may want a change from the hotel menu and went to Dylan's restaurant 1 mile away which was also a fabulous place, suiting young and old alike and very popular due to location, so do book in advance.
All in all, would love to re-visit this quirky amazing hotel again and thank you so much to all the staff for making our few days away so special .
The lovely Jules Hudson - countryfile /escape to the country presenter and crew popped up from the gardens one day filming during our stay too!.

This place is a perfect picture setting and romantic feel... Made to feel like a VIP when it came to service, there when we needed someone but not intrusive.. Everyone you meet is friendly and welcoming... Hidden gem tucked just off the island but will be recommending to everyone!10/10!!

Chateau Rhianfa is what fairy tales are made of

Magical from the moment you turn into the car park. It was a surprise for my husband as it was our first new year as a married couple so I wanted the stay to be special. As we walked through the beautiful main entrance we were met by a really warm and friendly receptionist who provided us with all the information we needed about the hotel and the surrounding area and things to do. The first thing we saw was the biggest christmas tree we've ever seen decorated so beautifully. The whole Chateau is decorated to such a high standard. The whole place was immaculate really clean and fresh. There are also several rooms hidden in various places that have huge half moon seats size of beds that you can just lie in and relax next time will take a bottle of champagne and a couple of glasses and just laze the day away. There is the most loveliest old fashioned wooden lift where you have to slide an iron gate across great fun. There is also a wine cave it is brilliant it has seats in the shape of Giant Champagne corks and is so cosy and quaint looking. The gardens were so interesting to walk around some of it looked like an old secret garden and some of it looked beautifully landscaped there was a gazibo that almost looked like it was made to look like old green dragon scales and from every part of the gardens you were overlooking the sea.
If you are looking for something really special, classy, magical, stylish, clean, friendly and a laid back atmosphere and not a stuffy formal place but still oozes class then the Chateau Rhianfa is the place to go.
A Real Gem

This stunning location gave us so much more than we could ever have hoped for when my daughter got married here in August. Everything about the place is truly magical. The rooms are stunningly beautiful & very well maintained, the staff are friendly & helpful and the food is to die for. Please do not make the mistake in thinking that it is 'stuffy & posh', Chateau Rhianfa is a relaxed homely place to be
A place to celebrate
By Pete, on 11 Nov 2014
We stayed at Chateau Rhianfa in 1974 for our honeymoon, so to celebrate 40 years together Chateau Rhianfa was the only place to be!
We are blessed with good late summer weather and so were able to appreciate the stunning views from the lovely garden. The rooms within the hotel were also stunning as was our bedroom - The Orme.
Luckily we checked the bed side lights soon after we arrived and found that neither were working. They were quickly replaced, but this might not have been as easy later in the evening. We had a wonderful stay and hope to return for our 50th! Next time though we will check to see if there are any special offers!

Attended a wedding in Chateau Rhianfa on the 8th of August and must say what a beautiful place. Greeted at hotel by the manager who was very helpful in showing us around and helping with ushering duties!! Staff could not do enough for you and provided us with a great day and evening. They gave 2 of my good friends a wedding they deserved!

Wow... what can I say? My fiance took me to Chateau Rhianfa for one night for my birthday, and it was absolutely beautiful. From the moment we pulled into the carpark, to that sad moment of saying goodbye and knowing we hadn't had enough time, everything was perfect. We stayed in the Duke Suite (thanks to Craig for your generosity!), with sweeping views over the Strait, four poster bed, free-standing bath, it was perfect.
Canapes and bubbly at 7pm with the other guests in the hotel was a really nice touch, and the meal was very impressive... compliments to the chef indeed!
The hotel is full of nooks and crannies and decorated impeccably throughout, well worth a wander around the hotel itself and the beautiful grounds.
Well worth a visit, this hotel is one of the best I have ever had the pleasure of staying in (and that's saying a lot!)
We will be back!!

Magical and Special
By CarolAnn, on 03 Dec 2013
We stayed for one night, and although living locally it was a welcome and relaxing break in magical surroundings. The views over the Menai straits and over to the snow capped mountains of Snowdonia from the reception rooms were stunning - we locals never tire! Our deluxe room was superb with nice fluffy robes and quality bedding - very important! All the reception rooms are delightful but I was very anxious to explore, and soon found lots of quirky places - love the sun room which opens out onto the large patio area - roll on summer! The small gym is fully equipped but unfortunately we didn't have time to make use of it as we spent too long in the hot tub sipping champagne and chilling!! Mmmm very enjoyable.
The history of Chateau Rhianfa is very interesting and worth reading - a copy is available from reception. The building has retained much of its original character and Victorian features and has been refurbished to a very high standard with a contemporary and quirky twist. You can't help but admire the architecture with its French influence. The Chateau Dining Experience was run very professionally and all the guests treated like VIP's with friendly attentive staff.
Thank you Martin and your team - look forward to returning

We had a wonderful weekend the venue was stunning. Even though it was a stormy weekend looking out over the Menai Straits and Snowdonia was fantastic. We had a lovely room beautifully furnished. The staff were kind and attentive nothing was too much trouble. We had a large family party on the Saturday night. The food was excellent beautifully presented. A special mention to Daniel and Martin the night porter who kindly kept the bar open for us they were both great. Thank you to all involved we had a great time
