17 Jun 2011, Bloomie rated Pengethley Manor Hotel

Absolutely perfect in every way
I got married on the 4 June, 2011 at Pengethley Manor near Ross-on-Wye and I cannot fault the hotel in anyway.
Loran, the manager helped to organise the whole day and nothing was too much trouble.
We were able to give our guests a choice of food at no extra cost. We had goats cheese and smoked salmon for starters, duck, beef or stuffed pepper for mains, and pavlova or crumble for desert. And the food really was amazing, and good sized portions. The only slight negative was that the duck needed more sauce but it was still tasty and very tender and we seemed to have about half a duck each!
The evening buffet, was again fantastic, loads of choice and great quality and I hated to see so much of it wasted at the end of the night. There was potato salad, cold meats, beef and ham, quiche, etc.
We used the DJ the hotel recommended, Pete Stead. Each client has an online account so you can update and change your songs without having to email or phone anyone.
The hotel had a really cosy homely and exclusive feel to it. I was worried that we should have picked a bigger hotel, but the Pengethley was so much better, because you did not feel like you were on a wedding factory line. It felt really personal and unique, the staff did not make you feel like you were the thousandth person to get married there this year!
The bridal suite, was truly stunning, again a lot better than the bridal suites I had seen in other hotels.
The guests rooms again, were large and beautifully decorated.
I really cannot fault this hotel, from the staff to the quality of the food. We had an amazing day.
