Leiston Abbey

Set in the heart of the suffolk countryside and with impressive ruined arches dating from 1363, Leiston Abbey is the ultimate romantic venue for your special day. On arrival, guests can enjoy our lovely terrace garden, planted with lavender and roses, before the wedding ceremony itself takes place in our Guesten Hall. The Hall, sympathetically built within original medieval ruins has a civil wedding and partnership licence and can accommodate up to 70 guests. Our magnificent thatched barn provides a magical setting for your reception for up to 120 seated guests. With an excellent choice of menus, fully-licensed bar, accommodation, experienced and friendly staff and a dedicated event planner to assist you at all stages, we will ensure your day is made as special as possible! Leiston Abbey is also delighted to accommodate smaller weddings and offers a variety of packages tailored to suit.

Catering - our recommended caterer offers a variety of superb quality menus, each using the very best ingredients. Wine List - Leiston Abbey has an excellent wine list to enable you to choose the best to compliment your chosen menu. Facilities - Our fully licensed bar sells a good selection of beers, wines and spirits. There is plenty of room for dancing and the stage can accommodate a band or disco. Accommodation at the Abbey is available for up to 60 guests. Bed and Breakfast starts from £30 per person and includes a full English Breakfast.

      This really is the most amazing venue. The photos on the website don't do it justice at all. It is absolutely stunning. Jill and Liz are SOOO helpful - they will bend over backwards to make sure your day is perfect.

      Beautiful and special venue
      We had our reception at Leiston Abbey and it was absolutely wonderful! The setting was stunning and the staff wonderful. We could not have wished for more! Truly magical.

      So Romantic!
      We had a wonderful, romantic ceremony in the medieval Guesten Hall followed by our reception in the Medieval Barn. Everyone commented on how fantastic it was and we are so grateful to have such special memories of a wonderful day. Thank you!

      Amazing setting, the barn has a great atmosphere and the food and service were excellent
      We had a winter wedding at the Abbey, the abbey ruins were flood lit which made an amazing back drop and great for photos. We had a drinks reception in the Gaston Barn which was ideal and then dinner and dancing in the medieval barn, it was rustic but stylish. Everyone commented on how great the barn looked and it had a very warm atmosphere. We had 120 for dinner and all the food was served piping hot and delicious despite us running late. It was a great day in a perfect place.
