Come and see our beautiful and unique venue dressed for a wedding
Wedding Open Day - Sunday 26th February 2012, 11am - 4pm
Hedingham Castle has entertained some of the country’s most illustrious monarchs, including Henry VIII and Elizabeth I. For the last eight years it has continued its tradition of fine hospitality and entertainment as one of the county’s foremost wedding venues.
The Castle Keep, standing 110 feet high, was built in 1140 by the de Veres, Earls of Oxford. The Georgian house was built in 1720 and it is a house in which to entertain and be entertained, combining luxury and splendour with intimacy and elegance.
Ceremonies take place by candle light in the magnificent and romantic Banqueting Hall of the Keep. From the ceremony guests make their way to the Georgian House, and if the weather is fine enjoy a Champagne reception on the beautiful terrace overlooking the lake or for winter weddings stay inside the magnificent Hall sipping mulled wine in front of the open fire. For more intimate weddings of up to 50 parties can dine in the silk lined Ashurst dining room. For for larger parties of up to 200 guests move into the lined marquee on the private Tulip lawn.
