Absolutely perfect!
We got married here 11th May 2013, so just last weekend, and my husband and I, as well as all our family and friends are still all on a high and still talking about it! Most of our guests commented it was one of the best weddings they had ever been to, and one couple agreed it was even better than their own wedding lol! The venue is stunning, picture perfect, well maintained and always clean throughout and well presented. The food is top class, really incredible. All the staff are polite, efficient, curteous and friendly, nothing is too much trouble for them. Our biggest thanks goes to the wonderful Georgina who handled everything perfectly and with efforless ease, even the last minute hiccups we threw at her! She completely calmed our nerves (mine, my husbands and my parents!), I really couldn't have asked for anyone better for our wedding. A big thanks also goes to Ash the DJ, who had everyone on their feet dancing all night having the time of their lives. He played the eclectic mix we asked for, but more than that he managed to understand the taste of our guests and played music they all loved. Waking up in the beautiful bridal suite was lovely, and it was going down for the wonderful breakfast spread with our family and friends that also stayed. It really finished off the our wedding wedding weekend! A massive thank you to all at Great Hallingbury Manor for what really was one of the best days of our lives.

Ideal wedding venue
We got married here on the 26th April 2013 and it was perfect! The hotel is beautiful, inside and out; surprisingly modern inside, with a mock Tudor exterior. We also loved the fact that we practically had the hotel to ourselves - this made the day even more special to us (60 day guests & 90 evening). The gardens surrounding the hotel are also beautiful and well maintained, perfect for wedding photos and a quiet walk/sit. The staff were great in every way, from planning the wedding to the day itself. All questions were answered, everyone was helpful and very very nice. A personal shout out goes to Georgina for organizing everything (especially as we live outside of the UK, Georgina's communication and support was essential), Sam for helping on the day and having a constant smile and Cody and Michael in the restaurant for help setting up, general service and management of the wedding reception. We should also mention Ashley, the in-house DJ. He was fab! Everyone (Groom included) was up dancing all night and he really took into account guest requests and the style of music we liked. The food was perfect. We steered away from the typical wedding breakfast and had a French themed hot buffet - the hotel was great in supporting our personal choices (even sourcing specific wine for us) and the quality, presentation and service of the food was amazing. Even our French friends commented on how good the meals were - so thank you. This is an ideal hotel for all sorts of reasons, we have stayed for a mini break before and with the beautiful setting and design of the hotel it was great, for a wedding it was intimate, personal and relaxed.

Had an absolutely fantastic wedding here a couple of weeks ago. Staff where brilliant, the food was amazing and was seemingly never ending All our guest commented how nice the venue was and how good the food was. Their still talking about the food 3 weeks down later!!! Highly recommended

Our perfect day
We recently had our wedding day here and it was the most stunning, beautiful and perfect day! We were helped from start to finish with every detail and right up until the last minute they kept in touch to check everything was in place! 5 star service! Highly recommended.

Perfect wedding at a perfect venue
In our opinion the venue was perfect, although not huge, it is a great size to accommodate guests of 100 sit down and 150 evening. Hallingbury Manor is recently renovated to an extremely high standard. The restaurant and bars are very simply decorated and the natural colours make it perfect for any wedding theme. The rooms are really stylish, the honeymoon suite completely sold it to us It is stunning, big, with beautiful furniture, large bathroom with freestanding bath and double rain shower. Just stunning and just where you would want to spend your wedding night. I cannot praise the staff enough. Jill, Sam and Jonathan were the most helpful, accommodating staff I have ever come across. Nothing was too much trouble and they went about everything professionally and as helpfully as possible. The chef there should win an award. She is amazing and so is the food. Everything was made very clear before the day, so our wedding ran perfectly. The staff actually felt like family by the end of everything. The DJ is great as well, he played requests all night which to me is brilliant. We were worried about plane noise but I can put my hand on heart and say that we didn’t hear a single plane from start to finish All in all if I were to win the lottery and have the choice of anywhere in the world to have my wedding over again, I would still choose Great Hallingbury Manor in a heartbeat.

We got married here early September and everything was perfect. We had our ceremony in the Oak room and our wedding breakfast in the Riverside restaurant. Both rooms are lovely. All of the staff worked really hard on the day to make sure everything ran smoothly and they did such a fantastic job of setting everything up for us. The manager also introduced himself on the Sunday morning after our wedding to check that everything was ok, this was very nice. All of our guests said on the day that the venue was beautiful and the food was delicious, our guests are still commenting on how nice the whole day/venue was. The Bridal Suite which we stayed in was absolutely stunning!!! We would love to go back for our anniversary!!!!!!!!

best day ever
My (now) husband and I got married at this hotel in September this year and couldn't have asked for a better day which was due in no small part to this beautiful venue and the fantastic staff. We had a few hiccups to start with as our original wedding planner left shortly after we confirmed our booking, but Rose quickly took over and was a constant source of support, help and efficient planning! The day itself was perfect, and Rose and her team were amazing. Whilst I don't think I was quite "Bridezilla", as the date came closer I was focussed entirely on getting all the details right, and this extended to emailing Rose countless lists and instructions. On the day, these were followed to the letter and everything looked beautiful - even better than I imagined it would. The food was incredible - we have eaten at the hotel on a few occasions so knew it would be good, and we weren't disappointed. Each course was a hit - with us and with the guests, service was attentive and friendly and the wine was kept flowing. All the staff were incredibly helpful and friendly throughout the day and into the evening - even providing us with one of their black ties for the photos when one of our guests arrived (to our "black tie" wedding) in a bright pink one! The rooms are lovely - the honeymoon suite in particular is gorgeous. Slight issue with the planes flying over so low - they do start early so a lie in really isn't on the cards but this is honestly the only fault I have to mention.

fantastic wedding venue
I had written a review on this hotel in November on our return from honeymoon. I'd presumed it had been printed but on looking tonight it hadn't so I thought I'd write another. We got married at GH on the 26th October 2012 and just want to say what a fantastic day we had, everything was exactly how we envisaged it would be.Our thanks to Jill and Rose for the organisation of our wedding. The 3 course Wedding Breakfast was superb food was piping hot and delicious, the evening buffet was equally wonderful our guests are still talking about the Hallingbury Burgers. Some reviews say about plane noises but what do they expect being 5 mins from Stansted Airport! The staff are helpful, food is delicious, rooms are comfortable. The only thing I would change if anything would be to lay carpets in rooms but then I don't like wooden flooring. Many Thanks and sorry for delay. Marion & Robert

brilliant day
We had a glorious day, everything ran so smoothly Gt Hallingbury could not do enough to help us, we have had so many comments from our guests about how professional and helpful the staff were. The wedding breakfast was served amazingly, the waiters did a proper silver service job waiting until each waiter had stood behind someone at the table before placing the meal on the table which was so delicious. The rooms were lovely and the bridal suite was second to none in the Essex area. They even supplied ear plugs as the hotel is on a flight path, so no problems with noise of aircraft for those of us that took the trouble to wear them. I would certainly recommend Gt Hallingbury for a marriage as they pay so much attention to the small details to make your day special.

great wedding venue
we had our weddding here in sept 2012 and it really was the greatest day. the venue is beautiful and the grounds are lovely for pictures and for the guests to mill around in. we had full use of all areas as it was a large wedding, we block booked rooms for our guests and the rooms themselves were beautiful and comfortable, the bridal suite is a gorgeous room, shame that you only spend a short amount of time there really! obviously there is some aircraft noise being so close to the airport but it really isnt that noticable once you have heard the first one! the staff were extremely helpful on the day and in the time leading up to the wedding so we couldnt really ask for more, we are definitly pleased that we chose GHM as our wedding venue, thank you!

We had a fantastic wedding at GHM (ceremony, wedding breakfast and evening reception). From start to finish (planning to execution) the staff (particularly Rose and Jill) were helpful, experienced, professional, efficient, responsive, accommodating and a real pleasure to deal with. The entire day ran smoothly and Jill was on hand to support us, co-ordinate and supervise every step of the way. Ash, the resident DJ, was superb. The Bridal Suite is fantastic (large, modern and comfortable). Thanks GHM.

Incredible venue
We got married at Great Hallingbury on the 13th October, and everything was perfect. The staff were wonderful, friendly and nothing was too much trouble. My Dad has severe mobility issues and it was no trouble at all for them to transfer his room to one with wheelchair access and they happily installed a ramp into the Lakeside Restaurant for the reception. The food was perfect, and their house DJ had an amazing rapport with our guests, meaning everyone had a brilliant time. Highly recommended for those wanted a modest wedding in beautiful surroundings, not to mention the grade A service!
