Arriving at Devonport House is an experience in itself: with its impressive façade of tall white columns, bold lines and perfect symmetry, it radiates elegance, sophistication and charm.

This home has a noble history. Its name derives from Viscount Devonport, who led the fund-raising campaign to build the house as a memorial to merchant seaman in the First World War. Designed by Sir Edwin Cooper, it was opened in 1929 by the Duke and Duchess of York – the future George VI and Queen Elizabeth. These days the house, rooms and every detail are all yours to enjoy.

For more intimate occasions Devonport House can offer the Churchill or Drake Suite which can seat up to 50 guests. The terrace and front lawn offer a great space for a drinks reception.       Fantastic Day had by all
      My wedding day was an absolute dream, the team at Devonport house looked after us all so well, from the time of booking to our check out the following morning. The food surpassed all our expectations and the waiting staff were efficient and polite. The beautiful grounds were an added bonus and made our wedding photos look stunning.

      We had an amazing time!!
      We had our wedding at Devonport House and we had such an amazing day. The venue was perfect for what we wanted, and the staff were all so friendly and helpful. Everyone complimented the food and the excellent service received, and the help of the wedding coordinator definitely took the stress from us. A perfect day!!

      Feedback from a Guest - 2nd September 2006
      Hi Lauren Hope you''re well.  Darren and I have now returned from a fantastic two weeks away in Malaysia and Thailand, which was absolutely blissful.  I just wanted to send a short note to say a massive THANK YOU for all you help and support in pulling together a truly fab day for us and for bearing with me and my never ending request!  As I''ve said before and I will say it again, you really are a true star and don''t think we could have done any of it without your organisational skills.   Please also pass on a very special thank you to the staff who were working for us on the day: the waiting staff who were always 10 steps ahead of our guest needs, the chef for the wonderful food which people are still talking about today, Jamie for being a great sport and a fab impromtu MC and Agnes for overseeing that everything went smoothly.   Everyone commented how well the whole thing was put together and just how smoothly everything went and I believe this shows just just how fantastic you staff were on the day.  We honestly cannot thank you enough.  I knew when we booked Devonport House that you had high standards, but Darren and I truly felt you went beyond the call of duty for us and we will forever be thankful to you.   We found out some time after the wedding that there had been an issue regarding my father accusing some of the bar staff about withholding our wine.  Please pass on our sincerest apologies,  my father had had way too much to drink and was not in control of his actions.  Darren and I were very satisfied with what we received, food wine, service, everything and hold absolutely no views that we had been short changed on the wine.  My dad is now thoroughly ashamed of himself!   So many people have said to me that you guys set the standard by which all wedding venues should be measured and I have to say, I completely agree.   Wishing you all the very best.   Darren & Renée

      A truly excellent venue
      We got married at Devonport House last month and it was a truly fantastic day. All the guests commented on just how good the food was. Devonport House really took care of us and gave us an amazing day to remember. I would highly recommend this venue for a fantastic day at a reasonable cost.

      Everything was just right
      Devonport House gave me and my now husband a day to remember. The venue as a whole is so self contained - We had our ceremony, wedding breakfast and evening reception them got in the lift to bed after it had finished. I would most definitely recommend it for brides who want a perfect wedding but at a reasonable cost.

      Fantastic Venue,Wonderful Food and Staff
      I felt that they really cared that we and all our guests had a great time.The food was wonderful and so many of our guests commented The staff were impecable and the room and venue a must for those thinging about a wedding in Greenwich. Personally they made us feel from the day we went into enquire that they cared and took away all the stress and last minute hickups. Nothing could have been better
