Crockwell Farm

Crockwell provides a personal, flexible and exclusive venue for wedding ceremonies and receptions with its 18th Century oak beamed hall, permanent internal marquees, award winning B&B accommodation and pretty gardens. Situated in rolling countryside but within easy access of M40 and M1 in the middle of the country.

Owned and managed by the Harper family and a very consistent team, who will work with you to accommodate your ideas and make sure you enjoy your special day in a relaxed setting. We pride ourselves on our personal service and attention to detail.

We do not take bookings on consecutive days giving you space and time to both set up your day and celebrate the day after with a family breakfast.

We can tailor the venue to suite any number of guests from small intimate parties, up to 180 for a sit down meal.  The maximum total number of guests for a wedding party is 250.

The marquees offer a traditional wedding feel but as they are situated within farm buildings so they have more protection from the elements than an outside marquee.  They are fully heated and have large expansive windows along one side with fantastic views accross the open valley - no other houses in sight.

      Perfect Country Wedding Venue
      Crockwell Farm was the second wedding venue that we looked at. Once we had visited we knew that our search was over. The location is stunning and the service is exceptional. The team were great to deal with from the second we stepped out of our car at our first viewing to the moment we left Crockwell as husband and wife. On the day Laura ensured that everythign ran smoothly and to time and was great helping us set up the day before. It was so relaxing having exclusive access to the venue the day before the wedding through to lunchtime the day after the wedding. The accomodation was brilliant and my family throughly enjoyed staying there. The food supplied by the Chopping Block was delicious and our guests were delighted. If you are looking for a wedding venue that will wow your guests at every turn with the views, the service, the accomodation, the food and the wonderful relaxed atmosphere, then book Crockwell Farm. You will not be disappointed. Thank you to Hermione, Laura and the team. Gary and I had a fantastic day and wish that we could do it all again.

      Our Perfect Day at THE perfect venue
      We were married at Crockwell Farm on Easter Sunday and had the venue for the whole bank holiday weekend exclusively to ourselves. It was very relaxing being able to spend the day before setting everything up. Then we headed to the village pub for a pre wedding family meal. Our wedding day ran to perfection thanks to our fantastic wedding coordinator – Laura - who worked so hard all day behind the scenes to ensure all our requirements happened!! All of the food, including the wonderful canapes and wine were delicious, and the venue was toasty warm despite a cold day. All of our guests were highly complimentary of the venue, they loved the location, and were amazed when the surprise dance floor was revealed! We looked at a number of alternative venues before choosing Crockwell Farm and we are so pleased we choose it. We had an absolutely perfect day, it exceeded all our expectations and was truly magical. Can we do it again please!

      Fantastic venue with excellent staff
      This was one of a number of venues we were considering but our minds were made up the moment we saw the place. The location and venue are stunning (even in the snow). The staff are extremely helpful and always trying to improve. They are flexible and will try to give you the day you want. The food supplied by the chopping block was fantastic. Couldn't have asked for a better day.

      Couldn't have been better!
      We came across Crockwell while googling venues soon after our engagement and decided to book a show round. We always wanted an exclusive venue and before we even left we knew we wanted it for our wedding! We would like to echo previous reviewers in that from day 1 Hermione, Bay and Amy were very helpful and indeed contactable whenever we had a query or needed to discuss something. As it is a family run business they really do care about your day and no effort is spared to make it perfect. The Chopping Block who did the catering were excellent and like Hermione's drinks package they were very flexible which took a lot of worry out of the hectic process of planning the wedding! The day itself was perfection. Crockwell's events manager Laura was indispensable the entire day. Approachable, unflappable with a sharp sense of humour she was excellent company as well as a lynchpin. The staff were also very friendly and hard working. Our guests had a fantastic time too with many saying it was the best venue they'd been to in years. All in all we cant recommend Crockwell enough, thankyou so much for our great day! Amy and Scott

      Truly Magical
      We saw numerous venues before discovering Crockwell. As soon as we arrived we fell in love. Not only is it absolutely beautiful but the show round was delivered brilliantly by Hermione and family. They were very accommodating in the run-up to the day and were available whenever we needed them. Hermione appreciated our budget and helped us plan a day to maximise it. The wedding co-ordinator Laura calmed all of our nerves the day before and my wife and I cannot explain how exemplary she was on the day. With military precision she ensured that everything went off without a hitch. (?!) The accommodation is lovely and enabled us to have all our closest family round us the night before and the morning after the wedding. Breakfast is very tasty! Our day was wonderful: Fantastic food from the Chopping Block, the hog roast was a hit. The rooms were beautifully set up, everyone raves about their own wedding but we just cannot stress how brilliant it all looked. The atmosphere is so chilled all day ensuring everybody has a great time and can relax with a drink and a canapé (apart from Laura who is flying around like an unseen ninja!) And all of this set against the rolling farmlands that really mean you have the whole place to yourself, no conference guests in the background here! The hidden dance floor is an absolute winner; don’t tell anyone about it beforehand no matter how tempting it may be to tell all about the star-lit ceiling. Our guests were thrilled with the big reveal surprising them all, what a way to introduce your first dance. The layout allows Grandparents to have a quiet sit down whilst the youngsters dance away, nicely separated yet still together. Overall a truly magical day.

      Only one word for it.... Perfect!
      We recently got married at Crockwell and can only describe our day as amazing. The reason we chose Crockwell is because we were able to have our whole family there for the whole weekend, which made the wedding. The venue itself is out of this world and the staff are incredible, Laura in particular helped to make our day run like clockwork. All the guests commented on how amazing the venue was, and I think this is a huge credit to Hermione and all the staff. We would recommend this venue to anyone looking for a perfect wedding day.

      Amazing & Perfect - Any Bride's Dream
      We had a winter wedding on 7th Dec 2012 and Crockwell was the perfect location. We were extremely impressed with the staff who we could not fault at all and provided and excellent service. The day went extremely smoothly and we enjoyed our special so much. All our guest commented how nice the Crockwell is and also a good time they had. We definitely would recommend anyone to use Crockwell Farm.

      Perfection!
      We have just had our wedding at Crockwell Farm and it really was perfect. From the beautiful location and grounds, to the spacious venue brimming with character and WOW factor...to the fantastic staff, it is a very special place. Hermione was fantastic in accomodating all our wishes for the day (and a few problems along the way!) and Laura was a superstar (very patient!), helping us set up the day before and ensuring a smooth run on the day - we could not have asked for more - she is an expert!!! We were made to feel so welcome and it was all about us (from our first visit to the moment we left) - exactly what you need when it's your wedding! I normally struggle to relax on big occasions but we trusted the staff to do a great job and they delivered - meaning we could just enjoy ourselves!! They are all lovely people and made such an effort to get to know us, so the whole day was really personal. All our guests were in awe of the place too and one said it was the best wedding she had ever been to! We would highly recommend this venue to anybody considering it.

      Amazing venue, location and staff!
      Our wedding at Crockwell Farm in May 2012 was truly amazing and exceeded all our expectations. The location is perfect; rural tranquility with amazing views. The venue styling was flexible enough to accomodate all the additional decoration and small touches we wanted to add, and all the team were efficient and helpful in helping us achieve our vision for the day. The catering was of a superb standard, and the accomodation on parr with high end hotels. The whole process from booking, pre-wedding visits to the day itself, was dealt with fantastically by the team who we can't praise enough!

      Beautiful location, a whole weekend to remember.
      We had our wedding at Crockwell farm at the beginning of October. We couldn't have wished for a more perfect venue. From the start of the whole process, through open evenings, emails, visits, the day itself, to the morning after we were made to feel so welcome and at ease. Hermione and her whole team were very friendly, organised and professional. Their dedication made it feel like our wedding was the only one at that venue that year! And their attention to detail meant everything. The food, provided by the chopping block, was excellent. I loved the fact that friends could camp over and there was plenty of accommodation on site. It meant that the celebrations continued into the next day over a delicious home-cooked breakfast with friends and family. The honeymoon cottage and all the on site rooms were extremely comfortable and beautifully done. I can't fault Crockwell Farm as a wedding venue. It helped to create the homemade, relaxed weekend-long memories that we now have.

      Amazing Day!
      We had our wedding reception at Crockwell Farm on 29th September 2012 and it was out of this world. Everything about it was perfect. The surroundings are so picturesque and idyllic, the food prepared by The Chopping Block was delicious and the running of the day couldn't have gone smoother thanks to Hermione, Bay, Amy and Laura. Every last detail was thought of. We would recommend this wedding venue to any couple looking for a countryside paradise. It really is the little touches that count when planning a wedding and Crockwell has thousand of little touches up their sleeve. Just wish we could do it all again now! Amazing, amazing place.

      Perfection in everything!
      We had the most wonderful day at Crockwell Farm for our daughter's wedding in September 2012. The location is magnificent with panoramic views and there is a truly wondrous tree as a setting for photographs ( go there and you will understand !) . Bay , Hermione and their team, especially the indefatigable and totally unflappable Laura, are so charming and do everything to make the day run smoothly. The food from The Chopping Block was delicious and served with quiet and cheerful efficiency. The day was perfect - even the weather - I should not be surprised if Hermione had arranged that too! Bonuses are access the day before to set up and the comfortable accommodation for guests . Above all Hermione and all the staff are totally straight about what is included in the price - no hidden extras. I cannot recommend it too highly.

We do not take bookings on consecutive days in order to give couples plenty of time and space. So if we have a booking on a Thursday then Wedneday and Friday will not be available. Couples have almost 48 hours here.

Flexible venue - If you are looking for a small and intimate wedding for around 40 guests we can use the hall for both your ceremony and also your wedding breakfast. If you have between 60 and 180 guests we would then use the hall and the marquee.
