Cripps Barn & Stone Barn

Cripps Barn opened as one of the first party barns in 1990 and in 2010 we opened Cripps at Stone Barn a few miles away.

The two original barns are similar, The setting, outbuildings and party spaces are quite different.

Both barns offer inimitable food by Cripps Catering, a relaxed and informal atmosphere, and a planning team with huge experience.

Cripps Barn

Cripps is an isolated 18th Century Cotswold stone barn set in lovely countryside near Bibury in the Coln Valley.  It has flagstone floors, beams and a huge open fireplace.  Extra capacity is provided by a beautiful Oak Room alongise the barn, connected by the 12 foot by 12 foot barn double doors.  Cripps is set in a dell with pleasant views and charming gardens and bonfire area.

At Cripps:

  • You can have a civil ceremony for up to 160 people.
  • You can have 100 to eat in the main barn or 160 in the Oak Room.
  • Your guests can camp in the grounds
  • You can have a bonfire outside and a fire inside
  • There is an oak structure for outside ceremonies in the glade in the woods.

Stone Barn

The Stone Barn is elegantly simple and the attached Dutch Barns are dramatic; corrugated iron, polished concrete and sawn oak floors, split-levels and containing (we are pretty sure) Britain's largest barbecue.  The view from the dining area is spectacular, rolling Cotswold hills with not another building in sight. 

At Stone Barn:

  • You can have a civil ceremony for up to 120 people in the Stone Barn or up to 250 in the Dutch Barns.
  • You can seat 80 people for a meal in the Stone Barn or up to 230 in the Dutch Barns
  • You can Increase meal capacity by 120 people to 370 by adding a marquee on the terrace.
  • You can have large firepits on the terrace and your guests can camp overnight.

      Thanks again for all your help on the 22nd - we had an amazing time. The food was fantastic and the staff managed to be both attentive and unintrusive, which is no mean feat.

      The wedding of Stephanie and Matthew - We, the parents of the groom would like to thank you and all your staff for all your work in making the 30th a wonderful, wonderful day, everything we'd hoped for. Everything on the day was superb; the venue, the flowers - a big thank you to Charlotte, the food was amazing and looked mouthwatering before even tasting! Since then we have had many people saying "best wedding they have been to". So once again a big big thank you to you all.

      but wanted to thank all the staff (difficult to remember names in particular but as mentioned perhaps the long feedback will, the main name I remember was Adam at the bar, just excellent) for an amazing day, even the weather played ball. We had a lovely day and so too it appears did our guests.

      . It was nice to finally meet you on the day and what a fantastic day we had! I have a thank you card here with note that was meant to be sent but got mixed in with our cards so I will send that tomorrow. We can't thank you enough for our day it was amazing and we have had so many compliments for the venue and service ( Adam/Em and Hugo were so much fun and professional a real credit to you all. And the lady in the kitchen who's name I didn't get) and the food!! My boss is very picky about his food (he is a rosette winner!) and he couldn't fault it, he's still talking about it now!

      Thank you to all the staff at Cripps Barn. Would not have changed a thing. At least 4 people said it was the best Wedding they had ever been to! Lots of people enjoyed the cocktails you put on and the enormous amounts of food! Truly a day to remember.

      Cripps Barn we really did have the most fabulous day and could not have wished for a more memorable day. We have loads of photos showing how fantastic the barn looked and how much everyone enjoyed themselves.       Luke and I would like to thank everyone at Cripps Barn who made our wedding day the success that it was. Not only was the venue stunning as always, but every member of staff were extremely friendly and helpful. Many of our guests have expressed their delight at the attitude of your staff as well as the very high quality of the food and the service. Especially those with dietary requirements who commented that it was a refreshing change to be treated like a 'normal' person. Luke and I had the most perfect day and the fact that everything ran so smoothly was in no small part due to your help and good communications in the build up to and during the day.
