Family Wedding
Venue Service

By Barbara, on 14 Jul 2015

We have just attended a family wedding at the Chateau. It has been absolutely gorgeous! The building is stunning! Views to die for! Every single member of staff was helpful, so very friendly and knowledgeable. Adam in the bar deserves a special mention. He made us feel really welcome and filled us in on the history of the Chateau. Food was delicious . This is the first time we have visited the area and we hope to return in the future to see a bit more! Thank you for a fabulous weekend.

Located on the beautiful island of Angelsey. Stayed here for a short honeymoon break in May, have stayed in a number of boutique 5 star hotels over the years. This is by far the best! Amazing location on the Menai Straits looking up at the Carneddau mountains with absolutely breath taking views. Hotel was amazing, we stayed in the Duke's suite which was a truly decadent and luxurious suite. It boasts an amazing shower room located in one of the turrets of the building. With a roll top bath in the main bedroom area and a wardrobe that looks like it would take you to Narnia. Hotel layout is really quirky with lots of stairs and passages to beautifully furnished rooms and lounges. Staff were fantastic, very helpful and professional. Had an evening 3 course meal in the restaurant which was wonderful. Breakfast was also just as good. Have recommended Chateau Rhianfa to everyone we've spoken to since. Will definitely be returning for anniversaries etc...

Arrived as a wedding guest and stayed for one night. The room was lovely, in fact all areas of the hotel were lovely. The decor and furnishings were in keeping with the age of the building and thus added to the stay. There were lots of little intimate rooms where you could get away from the crowd and have a quite drink. (Yes the drinks were expensive!!) The cooked breakfast was good. I can't really comment on the restaurant as we ate a fixed menu wedding breakfast. Overall I found the staff to be excellent. The hotel was full, they managed the whole wedding party kids and all, with smiles on their faces. No complaints....I will be back.

Fairy Tale wedding

We were lucky enough to be staying here for a wedding we were attending! My Dad got married on the 30th May. We had the whole venue purely for the wedding! This place is an absolute gem!! The staff were very helpful and couldn't do enough for us, the one member of staff even went as far as explaining some of the haunted sightings that they have, along with history of the Chateau The food was lovely! The rooms were very impressive! We were fortunate to stay in the Turret room, WOW, four poster bed which was huge and a wicked round shower/wet room! The grounds were beautiful and were kept nice. The views of Menai Straits were lovely and we even took a walk down to the waters edge! Cannot fault this beautiful place!

Unique, fab experience

We had a two night stay at this wonderful hotel for our anniversary. This exquisite hotel is in a beautiful location, with fabulous views of the Menai Straits, about a mile from the bridge. The décor is amazingly grand, yet still warming and inviting. The building itself is so like a fairy tale castle, with wonderful gardens to explore reaching down to the shore. We were staying in the Bangor room 6 with views of the pier and Great Orme from one window. t was a very bright, cheerful room with an en suite wet room in the turret - fabulously different on the 5th floor ( reception on the 4th ) Our two night stay included breakfast and one evening meal. The food was fabulous, staff tentative to guest needs, professional and really chatty, which made a great change to other hotels we've stayed in the UK recently - all a part of the holiday which so many hotels get wrong these days. We met some lovely folk in the hotel and we're given a recommendation of other places to eat in the area ,which we found value especially to folk who may want a change from the hotel menu and went to Dylan's restaurant 1 mile away which was also a fabulous place, suiting young and old alike and very popular due to location, so do book in advance. All in all, would love to re-visit this quirky amazing hotel again and thank you so much to all the staff for making our few days away so special . The lovely Jules Hudson - countryfile /escape to the country presenter and crew popped up from the gardens one day filming during our stay too!.

Magical from the moment you turn into the car park. It was a surprise for my husband as it was our first new year as a married couple so I wanted the stay to be special. As we walked through the beautiful main entrance we were met by a really warm and friendly receptionist who provided us with all the information we needed about the hotel and the surrounding area and things to do. The first thing we saw was the biggest christmas tree we've ever seen decorated so beautifully. The whole Chateau is decorated to such a high standard. The whole place was immaculate really clean and fresh. There are also several rooms hidden in various places that have huge half moon seats size of beds that you can just lie in and relax next time will take a bottle of champagne and a couple of glasses and just laze the day away. There is the most loveliest old fashioned wooden lift where you have to slide an iron gate across great fun. There is also a wine cave it is brilliant it has seats in the shape of Giant Champagne corks and is so cosy and quaint looking. The gardens were so interesting to walk around some of it looked like an old secret garden and some of it looked beautifully landscaped there was a gazibo that almost looked like it was made to look like old green dragon scales and from every part of the gardens you were overlooking the sea. If you are looking for something really special, classy, magical, stylish, clean, friendly and a laid back atmosphere and not a stuffy formal place but still oozes class then the Chateau Rhianfa is the place to go.

This stunning location gave us so much more than we could ever have hoped for when my daughter got married here in August. Everything about the place is truly magical. The rooms are stunningly beautiful & very well maintained, the staff are friendly & helpful and the food is to die for. Please do not make the mistake in thinking that it is 'stuffy & posh', Chateau Rhianfa is a relaxed homely place to be

A place to celebrate
Venue Service

By Pete, on 11 Nov 2014

We stayed at Chateau Rhianfa in 1974 for our honeymoon, so to celebrate 40 years together Chateau Rhianfa was the only place to be! We are blessed with good late summer weather and so were able to appreciate the stunning views from the lovely garden. The rooms within the hotel were also stunning as was our bedroom - The Orme. Luckily we checked the bed side lights soon after we arrived and found that neither were working. They were quickly replaced, but this might not have been as easy later in the evening. We had a wonderful stay and hope to return for our 50th! Next time though we will check to see if there are any special offers!
