Carlton Towers is a privately-owned Victorian Gothic-style country house sitting in the beautiful nature of Yorkshire, available for use as a wedding venue. This property is set amongst 250 acres of parkland, with verdant gardens and magnificent scenery to enhance the big day. Home to Lord and Lady Gerald Fitzalan Howard, Carlton Towers has been hosting weddings for over 30 years, ensuring every detail for each event is perfect. Here, to-be-weds can enjoy a celebration with their loved ones immersed in true beauty.

“Exclusively Yours”

This stately home is licenced to perform civil ceremonies and can accommodate up to 170 guests for the ceremony and reception, and 200 for the evening celebration. Couples may also celebrate their nuptials in an intimate gathering with up to 30 attendees.

This team offers exclusive use of the venue, comprising three grand staterooms, 16 individually and beautifully designed character bedrooms, 5 exquisite cottages, a minstrel’s gallery, bar, lobby, dance area, armoury, drawing room and garden. By presenting our new collection of wedding packages we are confident we can cater to your every whim.

If you prefer an outdoor setting the pretty walled garden vineyard provides a lovely backdrop for a small summer wedding or for something larger opt for one of our beautiful Feast Field marquees.

The three staterooms provide a delightful ambience for any wedding reception and span 150 feet in length. The house offers ideal backdrops for photograph opportunities, both inside and out.

Carlton Towers prides itself on its varied and extensive wedding options, from dry hire of the venue to our suggested ideas for this most special of occasions, but ultimately, we are happy to tailor our suggestions to suit your needs.

Our team of in house chefs pride themselves in producing delicious menus tailored to different budgetary, dietary and cultural requirements or work with couples on a menu of their own creation if desired.

Our In-house florist and stylist will be available to discuss concepts and ideas for your special day.

The celebration will be organised and coordinated by our experienced Events team who will carefully discuss plans with the happy couple and check that every detail is in place.

Beyond Perfect

Our wedding day was beyond perfect, thank you for all your help and support throughout. We could not have wished for a better day. The food was absolutely delicious and we had many compliments from our guests. The staff were also very polite and helpful, especially the gentleman who closed the bar at the end of the night, he was fantastic.

Amazing Venue, Fantastic Service

We were lucky enough to have our wedding here in October 2019 and everything was perfect. It's an absolutely stunning venue and many of our guests commented on how amazing it was and how good the food was.

The staff are extremely attentive and were excellent from the very beginning. On the day they helped us set up our decorations and were very good at communicating with us and letting us know what was happening and any decisions we needed to make.

The whole experience was first class and we wouldn't hesitate to recommend the venue for anyone considering it.

Perfect in every way!

Absolutely perfect from start to finish! Janet and Sam couldn’t have done enough for us, they listened to every need and want and it was the most perfect day we could have dreamt of!

Perfect venue, bad service

We had one of two of our weddings here last year. The venue itself is absolutely stunning, many of our guests said the same, and is ultimately what sold it to me as our wedding venue.
However, in comparison to the other venue we held our second ceremony at there was quite a disparity in service and how the day unfolded.
If you have a large family & circle of friends to help you organise your wedding then this may work well for you but due to my circumstances I single handedly organised our wedding day, and can say I did not find the 'wedding co-ordinator' much help at all. It's not very ideal for staff at the wedding to approach us twice on the day in the middle of our meal to ask what we wanted to do, or to point out that the music had stopped playing.
You can stay at the house itself on your wedding night if you have a minimum amount of guests who would also be staying with you (which we would have loved to have done, but this is understandable). I expressed our interest in potentially staying the night without being told of the minimum guest number; however most of our guests had already arranged accommodation. I communicated this yet the 5+ rooms plus other undiscussed charges were added to our invoice, which I had to ask to be removed. It felt as though communication dampened once the full balance was paid.
Some mistakes were made with our wedding breakfast, bearing in mind we had a menu tasting prior to the day - e.g kale instead of spinach, strawberry mousse instead of strawberry cheesecake, neither of which we would have ever selected. However, the rest of the food was delicious and I don't feel it was any fault of the chefs, perhaps it was a miscommunication. Having paid £100 for a menu tasting (which was free for 6 people at our other venue) I would have hoped we'd received what was discussed, and if this wasn't possible for it to be communicated before the day.
It's a shame that I had to leave this review but as I say the house itself is beautiful, if you can get past the lack of communication and disorganisation of the staff.

Yorkshires best kept secret with the WOW factor.

Carlton Towers was the first venue my husband and I viewed for our wedding . We knew instantly that it was the perfect place for us to bring all of our friends and family. The venue is hidden away on a large piece of private land, with an impressive drive onto the property for guests to take in the grandeur of the estate. One of the great things about Carlton Towers, is that you get exclusive use on your big day, The venue also has many bedrooms which can be used on the night of the wedding (or a very nearby Travelodge for around £30 per night). The wedding Coordnator, Charlotte, is fantastic. What Charlotte doesn't know about weddings, or the history of Carlton Towers, isn't worth knowing. Charlotte helped us plan the wedding from day 1 & was present during the day, too. Carlton Towers understands that a lot of planning goes into the big day, and make it manageable by by inviting you to the venue on several occasions to meet with the coordinator. We were able to decorate the entire venue the day before the wedding, & were allowed to use the bedrooms to get ready in the morning. Carlton Towers have delivered many weddings here and this shows in their professionalism and exceptional delivery. The wedding toastmaster is around during the whole wedding to ensure that things run smoothly and on time. The food is exceptional and they catered very well for our multi-cultural wedding. If I had to fault it, I would only say that the on site accommodation is priced too high and the bride and groom shouldn't have to pay for their food/accommodation as offered by other venues. Overall I am so pleased with the venue and can't recommend it highly enough.

Sarah and myself had a fantastic day at Carlton Towers, from the moment we walked in and were shown around, we knew that out of the 15 we'd seen, this one knocked the rest into touch. Funnily enough, the only reason that Carlton Towers came to our attention was through word of mouth of two work colleagues who had or were to be married there. They praised the staffs professionalism, the high standard of the onsite rooms, the absolutely majestic venue lay out and décor and the exquisite food on offer. We can only echo those comments - being recommended by word of mouth is a credit to the Carlton Towers team, I truly believe that your team and the venue have set the bar very high and offer an experience that many of the other Yorkshire venues can only hope to emulate.

From ourselves booking in with Carlton Towers, we found the level of service and communication offer by Charlotte to be excellent, there was no such thing as a stupid question and she really did help to put Sarah's mind at ease with the timings, tables plans, numbers etc. On the actual day, we'd like to extend a big thanks to the Carlton Towers team for making the event run like a Swiss watch, Steph and Charlotte worked very hard and we are extremely thankful to you both. We do apologise though for starting an impromptu version of Bohemian Rhapsody in the bar area, think some of the bar staff joined in as well ??

Venue was beautiful and rooms were lovely

I had my wedding here in 2013 and it was the most amazing day. The staff were fantastic and made us feel so special. The venue was beautiful and rooms were lovely and clean. The food was delicious and cooked to perfection. I couldn't fault it

The staff were exceptional and truly lovely people

Celebrated a hen night at Carlton Towers and I honestly couldn't fault it. The staff were exceptional and truly lovely people who can't do enough for you and genuinely want you to have the best time. Incredible place.

Came for a Hen Do and had the best time ever!!

This place is unreal! Came for a hen do and had the best time ever. Exceeded all expectations. It takes your breath away just driving up to the entrance. The staff couldn't do enough for you. We got a tour when we arrived by the lovely and very knowledgable Claire and even met Lord Gerald out in his vineyard who was so down to earth and friendly. Dave who worked through the night was so accommodating and made the evening so much fun. We were lucky enough to see him again at breakfast and again his attention was fantastic. Phil in the kitchen helped us to continue our fun and ensured Clive took centre stage in the cooking class whilst also being able to share his expertise. Lisa was so so helpful, getting things prepped and making sure we had everything we needed. What would we all have done without her?! And Charlotte who helped organise and coordinate our experience... it has been amazing thank you so much. We could have stayed at many a different hotel but we decided to try something different. We are so glad we did. This is not a hotel it is a home and Lord Gerald and the staff make it your home for the visit. You would not get that personal touch at a random hotel. You made the stay what it was and we cannot thank you enough. More people need to know about you and I'm going to tell them all!!

Accommodation was to a high standard

We held our Wedding Reception here last Sunday and just wanted to say what a wonderful venue it is! Many of our guests commented how impressive it was. The staff were helpful and ensured everything ran smoothly. The accommodation was also to a high standard. We would definitely recommend Carlton Towers to anyone looking for a wedding venue x
