We were very impressed with the lovely house and the other amenities Duxford Lodge has to offer for weddings. Lucy and her team were very helpful in arranging every aspect of the wedding we were hoping for. They were always available for meetings, phone calls or emails, and allowed us the flexibility we wanted. We were lucky with amazing weather on the day so were able to take advantage of the lovely gardens. We received a lot of compliments from our guests about how lovely they thought the wedding was.

From the moment we got in touch with the team at Orton Hall we were greeted by professional and friendly staff. Sophie who acted as our wedding coordinator at the venue was fabulous. She helped us through every step of the way, was kind and friendly and always answered our emails with questions really quickly. We really can’t fault Sophie’s amazing work with us! The venue did a fantastic job with the food - especially because we had some unique allergies from our guests but they made sure everything was safe and even eliminated my allergen (as the bride) from the menu all together both day and evening. I massively appreciated not having to worry about this on my wedding day! The venue itself was absolutely stunning, we got access to the room earlier than expected so we could decorate and the staff were all unbelievably helpful throughout the day. With the weather being nicer than expected we were even given the option to have our welcome drinks outside after planning for them to be indoors so this was a nice add on! The manager who acted as an announcer for us throughout the day was also very helpful We couldn’t fault any of the staff for their professionalism, hard work and kindness. The only reason I haven’t given a full 5 stars is because we had a few hiccups that caused some unnecessary stress throughout the day. The first one being room swapping. I’d booked a room the evening before to get myself and my bridal party ready in. We were told with that room adjoining our room for the following night we could get ready no problem before the wedding and staff would move over our things when we’d gone. Unfortunately this wasn’t the case we had to move over our things to the room while getting ready which is fine but the issue is I asked throughout the morning when we’d need to do this and was told the room wasn’t ready yet. Only when I was in the makeup chair (the last but one to get ready) I was told the room was ready but I was assured there was no rush to leave our current room. Me and my bridesmaids carried on getting ready and I went into the other room to get dressed. It was then that the hotel staff told me I had to get out of the original room asap so it could be cleaned for the next guests. This meant while I was meant to be having a first look with my dad, everyone was coming in the room to dump everything in there, including my dad so we never got to have a first look. This caused so much stress before the ceremony and I actually got quite upset because of this key moment missed with my father. He was also gutted. We would’ve much preferred getting access to the room earlier in the morning when we had time to move everything over instead of in the last half an hour of me getting ready which caused a lot of stress and missed key moments. The other issue we had was gate crashers. With getting married in December there were Christmas parties in one of the other function rooms at the hotel. We weren’t told about this when booking but it wouldn’t have been a big deal as long as they were kept separate from our wedding. Throughout the night we had at least two people from the Christmas party gatecrash our wedding even though we politely asked them to leave they kept returning and they even vandalised what we were using as a guest book (it was a canvas rather than book so we couldn’t just take the page out) they’d written in big letters on our canvas and actually swore on it. At this point the manager had gone home and there wasn’t really anyone to keep them away so my husband had to keep asking them to leave instead of being able to enjoy the evening dancing and celebrating with our loved ones. Eventually a staff member had realised and told them to leave but by that point the damage had already been done. Another issue which caused a lot of upset, understandably. While the team at Orton have been fantastic throughout the wedding planning - Sophie has been AMAZING - and even on the day staff were very helpful. There were definitely some moments I look back on and still wish were different, I believe they have learnt from the gate crashing situation so other couples won’t be affected by this but it’s a shame my wedding and what would’ve otherwise been the best day of my life was the one that it took for them to relook at their events. And me and my dad still say we wish we had our first look but the days done now so we’re focusing on the good not the bad because other than those two moments the day was THE BEST!

Perfect food, staff are amazing and our wedding went without a single problem

Amazing service and gorgeous wedding venue! I love Hotel du Vin. It’s so elegant and packed with character with genuinely, friendly and helpful staff. We recently got married at used HDV for our reception. We were blown away by the service. Especially Martina who ran the whole show from pre-planning, to setting up our decorations, to right at the end of the night where she was still ever present checking we were all well catered for. There was also Amara who was an absolute delight during the meal tending to everyone’s needs with grace and warmth. There we so many more great people though including the waiting staff, reception staff, bar staff and everyone else!

The venue was perfect from the 1st day we saw it. Rhe team at sheene mill were so attentive on the day and NOTHING was too much trouble. We couldn't have asked for more, thank you Levis, Gyzelle amd Team x

We had our wedding at The Holiday Inn Cambridge, and it was everything we could have hoped for and more. We opted to have both the ceremony and wedding breakfast at the hotel, and it was completely seamless. Maria (Wedding & Events) was incredibly helpful throughout the process - from being completely on it in terms of organisation, responsiveness to emails and even being there to open the door when I walked down the aisle - we felt really lucky to have that level of support and service. The food and drinks were great, and we received lots of compliments from our guests. Our drinks reception was also perfect The bridal room we stayed in was absolutely glorious and the added touches arranged by the hotel made it even more special. Overall, we could not recommend the venue more!

We cannot recommend Lanwades Hall enough. The whole process from booking, to the pre-wedding meetings, to the wedding day was so super smooth. We absolutely fell in love with Lanwades the minute we saw it at one of their Open Days. Elvis, Alex and the whole team are just so friendly, welcoming and super organised. Everything on our wedding day ran so smoothly and we didn’t have to think about a single thing. Nothing was ever too much trouble for them throughout the whole process. We did the multi day option and the breakfast on the morning of the wedding and morning after was delicious with lots of choices. The accommodation was stunning and so clean and homely. We, and all our guests, had such an amazing time staying there. So many of our guests commented on how nice the venue was. The gardens and grounds are gorgeous and we got some absolutely stunning photos around them. We would not have wanted our wedding to be anywhere else, it was the most perfect day, at the most perfect venue, in the most perfect setting. The team at Lanwades are amazing and we cannot recommend Lanwades Hall enough.

On the day nothing was too much effort and the really went the extra mile. Loads of rooms to stay for all your guests and delicious food!

Thank you seems such an insignificant word to really relay to you all just how much we appreciate all that you and your staff did for us over the two days of our stay with you. From the beginning of us organising our wedding you have all been fantastic, but our wedding day with you and your staff was absolutely faultless. Your help and kindness is something both Alan and I will never forget. I for one would not of coped without you and Liam. He is an absolute star and absolutely did what he says he would do. Throughout the day and evening he constantly checked with me and Alan to make sure we were happy and relaxed and needed for nothing. Anything we asked was delivered within seconds and never once did he show that our requests were anything but the norm. He must and should be a valued member of your team he really is a special person. What a fantastic team. Our guests were overwhelmed by the setting and the effort that you all put in to ensure each and every one of them enjoyed our day. And you Avril I cannot thank you enough for all you had to put up with, with me asking stupid questions and getting you to pace the distance? What was I thinking lol and then when my beautiful daughters contacted you to help deliver what they wanted to do for us you went all out to ensure it happened I don’t think many people or places would of been so accommodating and to have my Dad there while I danced to his song will be something I will always treasure and will always be grateful to you for that.

Steven and I would like to say thank you so much for organising everything and taking the stress out of everything. The day was just what we wanted and more!! We couldn't have asked for a better venue, food and staff. A special thank you to Sergio for running around all day and making it so stress free for Steven and I. It made a huge difference not having to worry. Thanks again
