As you enter the gates of Bishopswood House the Victorian mansion stands amidst extensive lawns and fabulous formal gardens overlooking the Wye Valley and beyond. Set within 1000 acre private estate and woodlands, the location is secluded and magical and offers amazing photograph opportunities and places to explore.
Enter Bishopswood House into the exquisite Hall with glass domed ceiling and historic sweeping staircase with galleried landing. The ballroom retains some of its original features and seats 90 guests with ease. Three elegant reception rooms ensure that there is plenty of space for guests to relax and mill around. Each room has been individually designed and furnished with period features to ensure each room creates its own distinctive ambience, from the coolness of pastel blues and porcelain to rich reds and polished oak.
The bar has doors opening onto the lawns allowing full use of the available space. The bar is comprehensively stocked with a good wine list but we are more than happy to stock to individual requirements should we be missing your favourites! Bespoke wines lists are available and we can also arrange a wine tasting session to allow you to choose the wines for your special day.
The ceremony room is tucked away and opens onto the gardens seating up to 90 people.
The fifteen bedrooms are each individually designed offering a mixture of single, twin, double and four poster rooms over two floors. Most have ensuites and those that don't have conveniently located separate bathrooms. The Honeymoon Suite is fabulously designed with a King Size Four Poster Bed and large bathroom featuring a Jacuzzi bath. The room, along with many others, has wonderful views across the Wye Valley and beyond. Early risers can often spot deer on the lawn!
