With this lovely Georgian mansion as the backdrop and magnificent grounds, Barnston Lodge is the perfect setting for a marquee wedding reception.It is tranquil and timeless and epitomises rural England. Barnston Lodge is a family home where guests are made to feel welcome and relaxed at once. The house and gardens are surrounded by paddocks with grazing horses and farm land.
When you hold your reception at Barnston Lodge, you have the grounds at your disposal for the whole day – no other weddings competing with you, no other music can be heard – only one event takes place per day – yours.
You can position your marquee wherever it suits you – choose your own view! We also have the ‘Brew House’ – an ancient building, once a cart lodge, with a large open fire, which can be a ‘quiet room’ for some of the guests later in the evening. A range of sports and games can be set up on the lawn for the younger guests to occupy themselves with, while the adults relax and enjoy the magical atmosphere that Barnston Lodge creates.
Barnston Lodge is a photographers dream, with the Georgian mansion in the background, surrounded by beautiful lawns and rose gardens. There is also the lake, which is a haven for wildlife, with resident guinea fowl and ducks. The lake has a pretty jetty and is a perfect location for wedding pictures. Aerial photographs are available too.
We have our approved, local caterers and wine merchants, but you are welcome to plan all this yourself. Barnston Lodge does not insist that you use our own suppliers, and does not charge corkage. We can supply some guide prices for your catering on request. Some of our guests have been known to drive straight from Calais to Barnston with all their wine requirements! Your wine will be stored in our cellar until required.
