In case you didn't know, my name is Shannon and I am the bride””””s younger sister and maid of honor. I feel both titles made me the luckiest person in the world. You may also recognize me being the one that was crying harder than the bride.

No word in the dictionary could explain my relationship with my sister. A quote from a pillow she once bought for me says &quotNot only are you my sister, you were my first friend&quot. And that pretty much explains all that she means to me, not only my sister, but my best friend. There””””s no one in the world quite like her. But as her sister, I see her a little differently. Most people see her as sweet Lauren, but I know her true colors. As most of you know, my sister is going to be graduating in May for her masters in Counseling. She's probably one of the most intelligent people you would ever meet. But like I said, as her sister, I see her differently. My freshman year of high school, my sister was a senior and she drove me to and from school. One day we pulled in my driveway and Lauren beeped the horn. I just sat there confused wondering why she beeped the horn. A few seconds later, Lauren let out her loud laugh that she does when she is seriously laughing and almost had tears in her eyes. Curious to what she was laughing at, I asked her. Along with her giggly, silly laugh, she said, &quotI tried to open the garage door!&quot That's the Lauren I know.

I didn't know Jimmy before he met Lauren, so unfortunately I don't have any embarrassing stories from when he was younger, but I figured that's what Jason was for. Unlike my sister and mine's relationship, my relationship with Jimmy does have words in the dictionary abnormal, goofy, and weird, but I wouldn't change it for the world. Most people, when becoming family, have to learn to treat the other by their new title to them. With Jimmy, he was now my brother. But we didn””””””””t have to learn to treat eachother like that we””ve fought like brother and sister for as long as I've known him. If you know Jimmy, you know that he has a way with words. He showed me that the first day I met him. The first day I met Jimmy, he and my sister brought back Subway to eat at home. As we were eating, Jimmy kept giving me weird faces. Along with one of his weird faces, he looks at me and says, &quotDang, Shannon. Slow-down, I ain””””t gonna take any!&quot That””””s the Jimmy I know.

I never thought anyone in this world was good enough to marry my sister, but she found the one that proved my thought wrong. And oddly enough, Jimmy and Lauren””””s wedding dress have a lot in common. Searching for gowns, we picked out one thing about every one we liked, and the one she chose had everything. Much like old boyfriends of hers. My parents and I picked out one thing about every one we liked, and again, the one she chose had everything.

I used to believe that Jimmy was the lucky one to have my sister, but I””””””””ve learned over time that they are lucky to have each other. What they have is so precious and special and anyone can see that if you””””ve ever seen them look at eachother.

I love you two so much. Congratulations!!!
