Example Maid of honour/Best woman speech by Sarah Iyaloo Shivute

Good afternoon everyone!
Ladies and gentlemen! You will be happy to know that I am only going to speak for a couple of minutes, because of my throat. And if I go on too long, my husband who is the master of ceremony, has threatened to cut it out.

When Eunice asked me to be her maid of honor, I felt very delighted but then as the big day approached, I though hey.... why did she ask me? I then remembered five good responsibility of being a maid-of-honor.

They are as follows:
Number one: Is to get the bride to church sober and on time. Well I think you could agree that I have completed my first duty.

Number two: To bring a cheque book for payments, the bride may have forgotten. Well given Eunice's memory that will be all of it.

Number three: To help the bride with her dress. Here I should thank other bride's maids for helping me out with the dress.

Number four: To keep all ex-boyfriends and ex-girlfriends at bay - words has it they are all not here, they are busy watching the "runaway bride" movie at Maerua Park.

And finally but not least, to make a speech - so here goes. I think you will all agree with me that we see before us today, a very smart couple. I am proud of them. On behalf of the bride and the groom, I would like to thank everyone for sharing with them their special day.

To the bride and the groom, I wish you good luck in your marriage, to love and to live happily ever after. CONGRATULATIONS
