I''ve got a bit of a reputation as a bit of a poet in my family. I have written poems for engagements and weddings. When it comes to my own however, I found a little Pam Ayres poem that was just my thing.so if you''ll forgive the lack of accent..

Yes, I''ll marry you, my dear, And here''s the reason why So I can push you out of bed When the kids start to cry, And if we hear a knocking And it''s creepy and it''s late, I hand you the torch you see, And you investigate.
Yes I''ll marry you, my dear, You may not apprehend it, But when the tumble-drier goes It''s you that has to mend it, You have to face the neighbour Should our labrador attack him, And if a drunkard fondles me It''s you that has to whack him.
Yes, I''ll marry you, You''re virile and you''re lean, My house is like a pigsty You can help to keep it clean.
That sexy little dinner Which you served by candlelight, As I do chipolatas, You can cook it every night!
It''s you who has to work the drill and put up curtain track, And when I''ve got PMT it''s you who gets the flak, I do see great advantages, But none of them for you, And so before you see the light, I do, I do, I do!
On a more serious note though
Life is full of SURPRISES and grooms name was certainly the BEST SURPRISE that''s ever happened to me. For those of you who aren''t aware, I have known, liked and respected groom for 27 years. We have seen a lot of changes in each others life, but I''m sure neither of us imagined where our friendship would lead us, the depths our love would grow to, or being here tonight.
In fact our relationship started with a discussion of all the reasons NOT to have a relationship..it was a very long discussion, but by the end of it, we knew that we had a level of communication, honesty and mutual respect that would see us through anything. 9groom is the most generous, caring and wonderful man I know ..and the bravest as he was prepared to take me on and all that goes with me. I am very proud to be his friend & wife.
Natasha, Ashley Ryan & Daniel our kids young from other relationships and our bridal party, you were all such an important part of the decision to start our life together, and I''m really glad that your such an important part of this very special day! I am honoured by my relationship with you, I am so very pleased you are all a part of today. We love you and are proud of you all, and wish that one day you all find what we have found in each other.
I want to thank In-Laws for welcoming me into your family. My arrival as grooms partner brought a lot of changes and I want to thank you for your constant support. I am proud to be the newest surname in the district.
To Mum, now I am a mother of 4 I have more respect for what us 4 girls put you through as children, and a little bit of dread for what is yet to come as my children grow up. Hopefully you are proud of the decisions I have made, and how I turned out.
Dad, you always said with 4 girls that when we got married you''d give us $1000 hold the ladder out the window and if necessary carry the bags to the bottom - perhaps this function today wasn''t quite what you imagined, but just so you''re not disappointed, I''ve told the caterer your fixing up the booze bill before you leave, and the bags are behind the bar if you wouldn''t mind getting them to the car in the next hour or so.
Today as been a special & personal experience from beginning to end. From flowers, the making of my jewellery to the celebrant & photographer, - family and friends have had a special role to play in making today uniquely ours. To everyone who has helped in one way or another and you know who you are, you assistance & support & love is appreciated - THANK YOU.
Special thanks to Barbara & Annette for playing surrogate bridesmaids without the dresses.
To all of you, our friends and family who have come from near & far to share this day with us, and celebrate our new family..thank you for touching our lives, our day would not be complete without you. And so I would like to toast all of you.
