How did Grace Loves Lace come to be?

I started Grace Loves Lace in 2010 after searching for my own wedding gown. The industry back then was all about the strapless, boned, corset dress OR the boned corset fitted fishtail gown. Neither worked for me and I was really surprised at how it was so stuck in that ‘uniform’ state. I knew that our designs and the method of selling them would work for me, so was bound to work for others.

Describe the typical Grace Loves Lace bride’s personality and style…

She’s original. A woman with style, substance, passion. She’s a natural beauty who walks to the beat of her own drum effortlessly.

What inspired your latest collection of Grace Loves Lace wedding dresses?

Always and forever Grace Loves Lace is not about the wedding or the bride - we are about the woman, and that’s who inspires every single dress and our brand. It’s all about how we envision our muse; independent, intelligent, witty, engaging, effortlessly beautiful on the inside and out, adventurous and a little bit different. The kind of woman we would want to hang out with.

Do you have a favourite bridal gown from the collection?

It changes all the time but right now, the Verdelle, Alexandra and Francis. For a very long time it was Josee and Hollie. During our design process we start with double the number of gowns that eventually get the go ahead, so really they are all favourites.

Which of your dresses would you recommend to a bride looking for a bohemian wedding dress and why?

Our Josee dress epitomises bohemian luxe beauty. It is an off the shoulder French lace gown panelled with delicate embroidery. The lace arm bands and the magnificent skirt really speak the barefoot and free spirit language.

What are your top styling tips for a bride wanting to achieve a bohemian look?

Don’t wear too much makeup or hairspray! Wear statement earrings like our beautiful gold and turquoise Virtue earrings. Our Hera or Laxmi anklets are perfect worn barefoot or with our Dosa heels.  That with glossy skin and your good to go. And of course, be comfortable and enjoy yourself.

Which dress best encapsulates your signature style?

Our Hollie dress has got to be up there as our signature gown; it has been worn by the most spectacular brides including the UK’s very own Millie Macintosh for her reception gown. (You can find out how to steal Millie’s bridal style in the hitched edit of celebrity wedding dresses!).

What makes Grace Loves Lace the perfect choice for a bride who wants a bohemian wedding dress?

Grace Loves Lace is all about natural beauty. You can have luxury without structure and restriction. There is nothing more beautiful than a confident and comfortable bride wearing beautiful soft French lace who can eat, drink and dance the night away looking effortless. Our gowns are perfect for brides wanting something truly luxurious, sophisticated, understated and original.

Which trends do you expect to see a lot more of this year?

Geometric laces, contrast linings and capes!

What’s the best part of your job?

The women I work with - I love my team. I’m also especially proud that Grace Loves Lace has changed the whole concept of how to dress and purchase your wedding gown. We really turned it on its head six years ago and it’s resulted in such a more exciting industry.

Which celebrity do you think would look amazing in a Grace Loves Lace wedding dress?

Eva Mendes in our Francis gown, Penelope Cruz in Genevieve or Verdelle, Gigi Hadid in Alexandra, and Lily Aldridge in Kiki.
