So you wake up all excited on your wedding day having just spent your last night as a single gal, you look in the mirror as you try on your princess tiara and….what, a big spot? This must be every bride’s worst nightmare. Walking up the aisle wondering if people are gazing at the big red cherry on your face instead of that fabulous wedding gown is not something you want to be thinking about anywhere near the run up to your wedding day. You also don’t really want to worry about a streaky tan, shiny skin, or greasy hair…..so here are my tips on how to keep your hair and skin looking beautiful in preparation for your big day.
Whether you are getting married or not you will always want to feel comfortable with your skin. Having a smooth and glowing complexion will give you confidence and will really make you stand out in a photograph. Your wedding photographs will be around for years to come so making sure you are happy with your radiant complexion is essential. We all know that we should be drinking plenty of water every day, but do we actually know why? Drinking water rehydrates your skin and flushes out any bad oxidants in our bodies. You should feel a difference after just a couple of days, and drinking water should become habit rather than a chore. Along with cleansing, toning and moisturising your skin on a daily basis you should find that preparing your face for the big day isn’t such a hard task after all.
Once the ‘drinking water’ habit has been nailed down you should start to see a difference not only in the skin on your face, but all over your body. Using an exfoliating sponge and/or shower gel will leave your skin feeling smooth and supple. If you are planning on a self tan for your wedding day then I would suggest you practice, and practice again so as to make sure you learn how to spread your tan evenly. No bride should have any streaky lines on her arms, hands, chest, legs or feet. If you are worried about applying a streaky tan then it’s probably worth splashing out a little on a professional spray or St. Tropez fake tan. Most beauty salons will offer this option, but make sure you book early, and go for a trial run before hand to make sure you are happy with your choice, and shade of skin. Using a hand and foot moisturiser will ensure that your nails stay strong and healthy. Having them professionally manicured before your wedding day will ensure that your hands look flawless with that stunning diamond on them. Don’t forget to book your eyebrow shaping and/or bikini wax appointment before your wedding day while you’re at it.
Whether it’s long, short, thick, thin, red, blonde or curly you will want to make sure that your hair looks perfect during the run up to, and on the big day. The copious amounts of water mentioned above will help keep your hair looking shiny and healthy but trimming off your dead ends and keeping your hair conditioned will make a big difference when it comes to your wedding hair trials. Wedding hair stylists will be able to advise you on what hair do will suit your face, and your veil. Again, make sure you book a trial run with your industry specialist before the big day arrives.
