Exactly what we wanted
We contacted Bloke with a Camera after reading reviews on Hitched and looking through the photos on his website. Neither of us are very comfortable being photographed and are not fans of 'staged' photographs, we also did not want to be forced into cliched poses on our big day, but wanted it captured as it was. John did not disappoint, our photos were waiting for us on the mat on our return from honeymoon as promised, and they are fabulous. The day was such a whirlwind it was lovely to actually see the photos of our guests and families enjoying the day as much as we did, John managed to capture this perfectly, and somehow managed to do it inconspicuously, there are even photos of us that we weren't aware he was taking. If you want someone who will blend into your wedding with ease, and is able to capture all the action of the day perfectly, then we highly recommend Bloke with a Camera.

Excellent Photographer
We  found "Bloke with a camera" after trawling through websites full of soft focus clichés. His pictures stood out as being more natural.  We booked John following conversations by email and phone. John is very easy to deal with and very professional. He visited our venue in advance, offered helpful suggestions and checked our requirements for group photos etc.  On the day, John worked in an unobtrusive way and was brilliant with our guests, from whom we received several positive comments. His pictures are excellent and they really capture feel of the day. Based on our experience, we'd unhesitatingly recommend "Bloke with a Camera".

Professional and Helpful
I got in touch with John whilst we were planning our wedding day and he helped out with various ideas, even coming up with suggestions for other parts of the day which were very helpful. He came and met us and thoroughly planned out the shoot beforehand, which was really helpful as the day itself was rainy and wet throughout. During the day, John got some fantastic photos that really captured the personalities of the guests, he was friendly and approachable by all, blending into the background and we forgot he was there for most of the day. I'd highly recommend John's services.

Great bloke, excellent photographer
I searched for ages for a photographer who would provide all photos on a DVD and was delighted to come across Bloke, who more than fitted the bill. Apart from being a thoroughly pleasant chap, he is an excellent photographer and captured so many beautiful formal shots, as well as the reportage style, which documented the day perfectly. He takes hundreds of shots and to be quite honest, I love them all!

Great photos, professional service.
I would not hesitate to recommend Bloke. The DVD with our photos was waiting for us when we returned from honeymoon and we were delighted. Not only was there a large selection of photos, capturing every aspect of the day, but we didn't have to wait ages for them as we’ve known many friends to do. We really appreciated meeting Bloke at the venue in advance, finding his thoughts and opinions very helpful. On the day he was friendly and discreet putting us at ease and allowing us to enjoy the day. He also took the trouble to adjust the height of the video camera that was set to record the ceremony. If he hadn’t of thought to do this, which was not part of his role, then we’d have had a very different, very unfortunate, video of us getting married headless! We’re looking forward to sharing the photos with all our family and friends and reliving our wonderful day.
