Documentary Wedding Photographer

Documentary Wedding Photographer

I'm a Documentary Wedding Photographer based in London and Hitchin, Hertfordshire.  My unobtrusive style of wedding photography, often called wedding photojournalism or reportage, produces beautiful, natural unposed photography of your day, capturing the moments and personalities.

I trained as an editorial documentary photographer and have worked as a photojournalist at The Times newspaper since 1998, and I use that experience to produce stunning photography of your day that is not staged or stylised. Apart from a few family group pictures and portraits of the two of you, I will not pose or direct you at all.

    Totally fabulous photographs!
Paul Rogers was the photographer at my brother in law's wedding in April. I cannot rate him high enough - the photographs were completely amazing, both of the bride and groom, guests, and also the venue. He completely managed to capture the atmosphere of the day and took some magical shots. You really did not notice that he was there - he just blended in to the background. He was a lovely person for my sister in law to deal with and everything he did was calm and serene! I totally WISH that he had been the photographer at our wedding.

Memories that will last us a lifetime
From the moment we met Paul he put us both at ease and was the most professional supplier that we have ever dealt with. We met with Paul 3 months before our wedding to discuss the routine of our day. As a photo journalist Paul understands that its not just posed shots that tell a story - it’s the magical moments that piece a wedding together. We met Paul again, individually on our actual wedding day and from that point on he just blended in from the lead up, right the way through to our actual ceremony and on throughout our reception. There were moments where we didn’t even know where Paul was throughout our wedding, but our magnificent pictures show us that he was there! Paul captured every beautiful aspect of our wedding celebration and has provided us with a collection of memories that we never dreamed possible. Our images not only tell a story of our day, but also highlight the way we are as a couple. We can’t recommend Paul Rogers enough and have every trust that he will provide you with the same, incredible photo shoot for your day too! Marks out of 10? An easy 10! Francesca and Barry Cribb

Couldn't have asked for a better photographer
Paul was the photographer at my wedding in April 2012. My husband and I really wanted a relaxed style of photography and were impressed by the work he'd done previously. As a photojournalist, Paul's mission was to capture the spirit of the day, so that we could relive the moments in the years to come and he did that beautifully. Everyone has remarked on how amazing the photographs were - not just in terms of the moments that were captured, but also his genuine skill as a photographer and we couldn't be more pleased. The other comment I hear all the time is the fact that nobody noticed him taking pictures. It was all very unobtrusive so everyone relaxed. In terms of service, Paul was brilliant. He came and met us beforehand to discuss the day and any particular shots we would like. He was great at keeping us updated, turned up on time and even helped out taking buttonholes to the groom etc. As a person, you couldn't ask for someone more warm and friendly - My children loved him and one is quite shy so this is a major achievement. In summary then, if you like his portfolio, you won't regret using Paul.
