As soon as Ben proposed, Vikki’s best friend Nicki offered to do her hair and makeup for her – which was lucky, as Vikki planned on asking her to do it! She is an expert when it comes to hair and beauty and has been helping glam Vikki up for events for years.
The bride wanted a vintage inspired look to suit her beautiful Lusan Mandongas wedding dress, which featured a lace jacket buttoned up at the back and a pretty pearly belt. She paired it with a classic long veil. She bought the dress from Hannah Elizabeth Bridal in Botley, which she attended with her bridesmaids, her mum and Ben’s mum.
She also wore shimmery metallic shoes from LK Bennett, and a hair comb from Jo Barnes vintage which had crystal and pearl detail that matched the detail on the belt of her dress. Vikki borrowed her earrings – she wore Nicki’s grandmother’s vintage crystal drop earrings. A bespoke garter from the Wedding Garter Company was the final finishing touch. Red lipstick and red nails (with matching red wellies stashed away in case of rain) made her stand out from the rest of the bridal party.
Vikki also bought a special pair of knickers from Pompadour, however the bow detail would have been visible through the gown so she ended up wearing them on a secret bridal boudoir photo shoot which was Ben’s pre-wedding present!
