The couple actually chose their wedding date through compromise – Stephanie wanted a winter wedding whilst Dennis wanted to get married in the summer. They found middle ground in autumn and Stephanie was so glad they did as she used lots of reds, golds, oranges and burgundy in the colour scheme and had lots of tree inspired touches.
All of the tables at the wedding reception were named after different types of trees, and the place cards were leaves spray painted gold with a name tag attached by twine. Stephanie roped her bridesmaids in for that job as it was so fiddly!
The tables were decorated with wrought iron candelabras, which they bought from a local blacksmith. Each guest received a handmade chocolate lollipop as a wedding favour, alongside a selection of sweets in little paper bags which were personalised with the couple’s names and wedding date.
In the evening the couple hired Black Cadillac Sister Band, who played retro style music and also did a DJ set. They played Stephanie and Dennis’s first dance song, Elton John’s ‘Your Song’.
